Hello all. So yestoday’s night a rogue was abusing layers exploit to avoid my bursts but his way faster recharges so i wana know if my reports are being taken serously by blizzard when i reported him
Do you mean like when people use the elwyn forests stormwind keep castles corner around the usual dueling areas so that ppl run to the stormwind keeps phase mid fight to recover their cds and then back. I dont think its against rules but its lame for sure anyway
I’d go as far to suggest that if a player is engaged in PvP combat and switches layers, then they receive 25% durability damage to their equipment. It will definitely make them think twice about abusing it. The amount of innocents hit by such a change is less than 1 in 1000.
-=EDIT=-
Though this suggestion does not hurt low-level twinks that much, nor people who use heirlooms.
No i mean it was in goldshire and he vanished and it wasn’t the rogue ability he just changed layer and that prevents us from getting a kill on him. And the thing is he does it endless times so no way of countering that
im expert in this kind of things.
no changing layer with any tools that game gives him is not against the rules.
basically its not exploit he just changes when he knows he is going to die.
he goes out of combat and then he changes
Seems bit similar with the corner on stormwind keep and elwyn forest that phase people from the dueling area and then they yo-yo between it and back, dont think its against any rules but sure seems meh anyway
No he does not. Please re-read it. As i’ve stated, he does it when we’re about to kill him while he’s in combat please stop trolling. And it was in the inn we never left the inn. He’s just abusing realm jumping with lfg and it needs to stop
Queue up for follower dungeon when you’re about to die. It’s an instant queue and you get in instantly. Blizzard doesn’t care at all, it’s a joke.
my friend im not trying to troll you.
im trying to help you.
if he is doing this in combat and the way that your saying then you need to talk to someone from customer support or someone that knows betterthan me.
.
i saw some players uses bg and arena keeping it on ready to run in this times…
maybe if i see a video of it ill understand better
Follower Dungeon queue abusing. It’s an exploit and is bannable, according to the Code of Conduct.
Though it’s been like this since it was introduced and haven’t been addressed yet.
A way to combat the abusers is to make an invite macro and just spam it to prevent them from accepting the queue.
Should also report said player for exploiting, though.
The simple solution to this is to disable the queuing / looking for group window while in combat. Then no one can do it
That is your interpretation of theexploiting bugs part , which is understandable.
However, AFAIK no bluepost on the matter exists, so we can not say for certain whether Blizzard sees it the same or not. Because using the group finder itself, while sometimes buggy, is not a bug per se.
Sounds like a good idea on the surface.
This solution would however potentially also screw over thousands of people that happen to be doing world quests or get aggroed by a Mob whil gathering when they have been in teh LF(x) queue and their invite just happens to pop. Likely not the case here, but potentially hogtying the entire playerbase to rotating on their thumbs in a safe zone for what can be 45-60 minutes is not the way to solve it…
Unfortnately, the people that could tell you this do not frequent the forums, much less interact with players on them.
Anyone else could say yes, then half the forum would call them a blizzard shill, or they could say no and be deemed a troll.
As annoying as it is, I would simply suggest making peace with the idea that very few PvP focused players are actually interested in a fair fight.
Just look at how many of them get off on murdering players who are physically incapable of fighting back due to being a far lower level than they are.
Or how many of them deliberately go out of their way to play whatever class is seen as the ‘easiest’ and ‘most effective’ in any given patch cycle.
That they will try to avoid actually dying if they encounter someone who can actually fight against them is not at all surprising to me.
There’s a handful of honourable PvP focused individuals who maintain a degree of good-sportsmanship but they are a rare breed, I fear.
there is no layering or sharding on AD in that area as to avoid wrecking possiable RP
I dare postulate that that is likely a generous overestimation of how many people actually looking for a fair fight there are… I would guess that these days there´s maybe 50 -100 in all of Europe …
Seriously, for most of them, both in classic and on retail, it´s all about getting the bestestts possible gear ASAP, so they can gank lowies and complain on the forums about anything that kills them the 3x /season they actually enter the arena… and it´s been this way since Wrath, that´s why I quit engaging with it completely, I used to love arena even when we lost, because it wasn´t just me roflstomping some level 58 exiting the dark portal or level 68 coming out of Grommash hold.
But this means that if I queue for a dungeon, see that I have to wait for X minutes and then go out in the world to do stuff while the queue pop ups, then I can’t enter combat. Because if I enter combat and I don’t finish it on time to accept the group-finder pop-up, then I could be hit with the mini-deserter debuff, especially if I queued up for Arena.
I believe that allowing it to be “abused” but imposing a hefty penalty on the abuser is the proper way to go forward.
In fact, I will also add to my suggestion on post #3 in this thread that if I am locked in PvP combat and switch layers then, in addition to those penalties, my opponent(s) get rewarded as if they killed me.
The final step to add is to ensure that whoever abuses it cannot return to the initial layer/phase to re-ambush the other player before the latter has had enough time to recover back to full and most of his cooldowns.
I did report the rogue but he thought he was a god or something
Considering that OP used “we” and “us” several times and there was no mention of there being anyone else than the rogue as opponent, you could say the same for OP here.
Now im not saying that misusing layering is an acceptable way to pvp, but imo neither is ganging up on someone.
As for using layering/queues in Pvp OP, until Blizzard comes out with an official statement on the (ab)use of layering/queues, no one knows if this is indeed considered against ToS so we cant tell you if your reports are being taken seriously. All we can tell you is that they will get looked at. Eventually.
A single report is not going to get anyone banned .
There is no rule against ganging up to gank someone while in wm on .
We were 3-4 people but everytime he was about to die he’d vanish. And no i dont mean the rogue ability he was unable to be attacked but he just either used the dungeon npc finder or layers changer
