So basically you can group up with 1 player of each class and smack the raid?
Technically, yes… but it still meant you needed to run for several weeks/months for everyone to get their full set, as not everything on the Boss’s loot table dropped EVERY run.
Going in a Group of the OG 9 Classes meant no Loot pieces were “wasted”… but didn’t stop the same piece dropping week after week after week…
I wish sets would show up in the sets tab even when you didn’t collect the bracers which are hidden under gloves anyway. I have so many sets void of bracers, don’t make me go back there for them!
make trial characters and go inside MC. i think it unlocks transmogs but you cant send stuff to your main or something.
or just level many druids. its easy. you can solo mc at like lvl 40 no?
Trial characters can’t enter raids, they can’t enter low level dungeons either.
unless you’re in a hurry for some reason, creating alts just to farm an old set seems a bit of an overkill to me.
just leveling one to get to 40 (?) takes more time than the amount of total time you’ll spend in MC farming that druid set.
By the way this is a big gripe of mine. In Legion when you had the Bear Tartare, you got a nice 5 sec speed boost after a kill, so it became a fun challenge to route your way so that you keep sprinting while killing a trash mob every 5 sec. Not only was it faster, but a lot more fun. Then the nerfed the item to the ground in BFA because how dare people clear old content fast, gotta call the fun police.
Running it solo should get you the set in around a month or two imo. Luck plays a big role of course as you could get between 0 and 8 pieces per run, get duplicates etc.
Later expansions rewarded more loot & their tmogs are thus easier to obtain. I once got a legion full set in 3 runs iirc, which was kinda lucky.
BFA and SL sets are shared across a given armor type, allowing you to obtain them faster.
Oh yeah and if you’re interested in the T2 (Black wing’s lair) head model you can also obtain it from Onixia on top of the BWL drop table.
Sure if playing the game the way it wasn’t intended to be played is considered fun, then definitely call the fun police and get that stuff balanced.
Yes, if it’s fun, then it’s fun, regardless of how it was “intended”. Who exactly does it hurt? It’s not like running legacy raids faster breaks the balance of the current meta or something. This is like patching out speedrun routes (not even glitches, just unintended shortcuts) from old games.
That’s entirely something you have to choose… I collected Sunwell sets based on older ‘completion’ guides, but when it was decided that Black Temple was a set in its own right, I had to go finish both for the achievements to register.
Molten Core deserves an award for the least linear Raid of all time…
My third run, not a single set item yet
