Is it hard to unlock Feathermane

I really love the Feathermane’s in the broken isles and I was amazed at their beauty. One of the most fun things I like to do in wow is tame pets I find along my adventure.

Apparently, I can’t tame them as I need to do some legion related grind to unlock them which is a bummer because I’m lazy. Hey, at least I’m honest.

Is the grind easy? Thanks in advance

I did a quick google and skimmed the results (so I may be woefully ill-informed).
It looks like you need to do the Hunter Class mount grind first.

Have you done any of the Legion Order Hall campaign on your Hunter?

Yup. Only the one to unlock the green bow appearance for MM bow. But that’s it

Have you completed Breaching the Tomb on any character?

If so, you only need to finish the Order Hall campaign on your Hunter (not sure how far you got for the bow). Then do the Broken Shore quests up to Recruiting a new Champion.
Then a quest should appear to begin the quests for your class mount the Loyal Wolfhawk. Neither of these questlines is very long.

I don’t remember to be honest. Should be easy to solo as a level 60, right?

Yeah, no problem. Legion content is 45 I believe. Even the dungeons from then will be soloable just fine. Not of the grind is hard really but some of it will be time consuming.

Breaching the Tomb is an Achievement so you can check in your Ach tab. If it’s there then you’ve saved yourself a little work but otherwise it’s not so much effort. Some of it (like Marks of the Sentinax) will be a pain even at 60, just rng on drops etc.

As a Hunter, how can I tame Feathermanes?

Feathermanes aren’t instantly tameable - you have to earn the privilege! Here’s what you need to achieve first:

  • The Power Ascended pre-requisite was removed in Battle for Azeroth, as artifacts can no longer be levelled.
  • Since Battle for Azeroth, you can purchase this as any spec - not just Beast Mastery.
  • You must have completed the Order campaign for Hunters, leading to the achievement A Glorious Campaign, and then the Legionfall quest campaign, leading to the achievement Breaching the Tomb. The Legionfall campaign will not progress very far until you’ve completed the Order campaign.
  • You must then complete a short scenario, Night of the Wilds, to earn your new Hunter class mount - the Loyal Wolfhawk.
  • Once the above criteria above have been met you may purchase a Tome of the Hybrid Beast from Pan the Kind Hand at the stables in Trueshot Lodge for 1000 Order Resources. The tome teaches the ability Hybrid Kinship.

“you must earn the privalage” well excuse you… im a wildhammer dwarf, i have the privalage to tame Gryphons.

in all seriousness and jokes aside, thanks Puny. This is very helpful! time to get to work

I remember doing it and enjoyed the quest line. Nice feeling of achievement on completion. Good luck.

thank you. im a bit suprised tho. Pandarens can tame cloud serpents without a grind, and once you get exalted with the cloud serpents you unlock it for all races

so by that same logic dwarves should know how to tame gryphons naturally. i dont mind doing the grind anyway, legion was 3 expansion ago. but yeah… its weird

I loved that quest line (and the ordehall mount too)
It is harder to grind out the reputation for the draconic or the pandarian deagons taming books than the Feathermanes imho
And the new dragonfoxies on the Isles are feathermanes too!
Worth it Anizaah to do the line
(Hint: there are 3 diferent coloured wolfhawks matching your orderhall mount hiding in Legion)

IIRC on a certain island somewhere, i did enjoy the questline.

it may have already been answered. but unlock the hunter flying mount. farm order hall resources. purchase the tome or book from a vendor. done.

then you can tame a feathermane pet that looks exactly like your class order mount.

If your Hunter is your main it’s well worth doing, you get 3 mounts which are pretty cool, they have a special effect when you summon them.

Also a title (Huntmaster) which is pretty cool.

Some cool lore/quests, specially the one with Broxigar.

It seems like a grind but honestly enjoyable.

The only part I didn’t like was the other legion stuff you have to do related to dailies but it’s w/e
