I done a lot of keys this season, before the nerfs, after the nerfs, after the buffs. Yet, I cant shake this sinking feeling that Fury Warrior is just… weak.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying you or I cant complete the content. I have completed 13s in time myself, and I am pretty sure 14-15s should be doable in my situation. So, for sure in the content I am doing I can, kinda, pull my own weight. Though, what does that even entail? To carry my own weight, as a warrior, I see that as doing if nothing else close to equal damage to my peers - but sadly this is not the case. In truth, it is more a question of; can my peers work around my lowered DPS values.
At least that is my experience, and this is why I ask here, so I get to know if it is simply just me being a bit of a doomer, or if warrior simply just is that down bad.
My Fury AoE burst is nothing to write home about anymore. It might reach 8 million, true, but others do the same if not more. Even if I get god-procs, and for Slayer procs seems to be the only way to do damage, then I might even have a visual lead on that pack for a few seconds. Only to see that gap closed in a fraction of the time and overcome by a crushing margin.
On average I will sit around 1.6-1.9mill overall, the others usually 200-300k above. Sure, it is kind of close, I can pretend that the AP% value helps to cower this. But I will be honest, I feel like a bag of so much human processed matter my friends got to carry around.
Does this get evened out, or is this the situation Slayer Fury will just be in for the rest of this season in M+ if not the rest of the TWW saga. No burst, no real damage - kinda just existing. No high, only lows, living of the good will of others…
Playstyle is fun - sure (gimped burst profile aside), gameplay is great. Yet, numbers simply are not there. They are bound into procs that are either feast or famine, and the burst AoE of Bladestorm with Odyn’s (the portion of our burst AoE damage we got control over) is not even noticeable anymore. Why they moved damage from our controlled situation to the realm of the RNG gods, I will never understand. Is that really better game design.
Am I wrong about this? Is Slayer Fury in reality really strong. Am I simply playing it wrong?
I don’t know. All I know is what I see, and what I see is simply pretty grim. I look at the breakdown after the key and think, “they should clearly have brought someone else than me”.
Slayer Fury seems to be a spec for others to carry, not to carry with.
