Is it normal to get 2 items in 17 keys?

There is no way to earn easy gold in this game except for sitting in front of computer all day and farming for it. I buy token when i need gold and it makes the game pay 2 win. Craft should be removed or tuned to become cheaper.

100k is a lot for most players. Getting that kind of gold would take weeks of farming WQ’s and weeklies in one character.
Other way is mind numbing farming or getting all sorts of addons or bots in the AH.
Mass crafting is also doable but a risky business, which again involves playing the AH. Most people don’t find that fun and tbh it isn’t and it’s dominated by those who already amassed millions or by bots.

A new player or very casual surely isn’t going to get any crafted gear unless they buy gold with money.

Honestly, the only realistic way to do it is to craft yourself or farm mats to craft stuff that sells. It’s boredom though and that i can see being the issue. It’s more the game playing us than us the game.

That’s how they want you to play and get your upgrades by timegating the best to 1 per week.

You thought you were playing a game but Blizzard are playing YOU for your time and money!

Drop rates are set to keep you around for about 3-4 months.

Probably no loot for you in this dungeonds. btw you have craft if can’t finde something good.

It may happens. I geared this warrior through the weekly vault and crafting system. Almost none dropped item from mythic+ and bad luck from the raid.

Thanks God I was very lucky with the weekly vault.

It is easy most people are not creative or dont really have a clue how to earn gold it is easy.

wow is not p2w. Using real money is not the only way to get access to crafts in game, since most people farm gold or farm mats themselves and people that buy tokens are not that many.
It’s just opportunity cost. Why waste time farming gold or mats that translates to €2-3-4/hour (based on token gold value) when you can work 1-2 extra hours real life and make €10-20-30-40-50+/hour? It makes no sense since result is the same but you spend less time and you can use the spare time to actually play the game aspects you enjoy more (instead of farming gold).

Well, it is obviously not p2w. I basically do not use crafted anything. It just takes longer to gear up. I only buy tokens for affording consumables.

very important point. if they only milk money with the MINIMUM effort, nothing else can come of it…

or why do you have to play a boring and mindless dungeon 30-40 times to get 1 item? or why is there a small chance of a useful reward once a week???
Yes! just so you don’t cancel your subscription.

maybe you can expect such nonsense in f2p game. but here??? where there are extremely overpriced expansion costs and grossly overpriced subscription costs???

the joke is that f2p has a lot more real content too.

Ok let’s do some math.

Looking at the OP’s char we can see the two most needed slots (besides trinket because idk if crafted trinkets are even worth making ever) are offhand and shoulders.

Shoulder mats:

4 Fire Infused Hide: 9g
13 Stonecrust Hide (R3): 3393g
150 Resilient Leather (R3): 900g

Offhand mats:

5 Awakened Air: 495g
20 Glittering Parchment: 20g
10 Cosmic Ink (R3): 2990g
5 Runed Writhebark (R3): 1345
4 Chilled Rune (R3): 198g

R3 mats are considerably more expensive but also relatively unnecessary for a first craft given you’re likely going to remake it at 447 with aspects once you have them. However even with R3 crafts we’re looking at what, 4.5k for a pair of shoulders and 5k for an offhand? Plus 30g for a missive on each. A far cry from 14500 per item.

Let’s do plate legs as well since you mentioned them:

16 Primal Molten Alloy (R3): 4250g

As for commissions / what crafters expect to be paid, as long as they aren’t using their own inspiration (Which they won’t be if we’re not after 447 crafts) it’ll be barely anything. I’ve even told players on low pop realms who I’ve been helping out to just inspect people and check who made their gear, then ask the crafter politely if they can make some things for them as a one off. Most do it for nothing.

So your ā€œ7 items for at least 100kā€ is a gross exaggeration.

but isnt it kinda besides the point? did i claim that its impossible to get gear ? i merely said that i did 17 dungeons and got 2 items.

thats kinda insane in my opinion.

No I fully agree with you that a rate like that is ridiculous, I simply disagree with the repeated assertion from some people that the guaranteed reward structure that’s supposed to supplement such issues is inadequate. Trying to get a specific item from M+ absolutely sucks, and when you can apparently (I have never had such an issue but I don’t feel questioning it adds value) go on streaks like that it is significantly worse.

All that being said, I dislike people spreading false / outdated information about the state of the crafting system and its role in both catchup and end game gearing. It’s something you should take advantage of regardless of your current issue and I’m disappointed to see so much pushback against that suggestion, though not from you.

that is why i have made another thread some weeks ago that lower keys should have more drops.

since the gear that you get there is merely stepping stones to get into a real key.

after they introduced veteran/champ/hero status on gear.

Nothing is wrong with it. Drops were always RNG and rare. Always have been and always will be. Especially with the new upgrading system.

the new upgrade is worse than the old in this regard.

Oh, I disagree. I for once reached almost maximum ilvl compared to before at any moment, simply because the upgrade system doesn’t share the very same currency anymore

but essentially all gear below a 17 key is useless. where as anything grinded before was practically upgradeable to 415

As opposed to anything above a 2 being unnecessary because all you’d be doing was saving time? I don’t think ilvl better reflecting the difficulty of the content it came from is a bad thing, though I do agree with you WoW needs a better system of acquisition for mythic+ items as a whole.
