I started retail because of my childhood friend insisting, he was tank and i was dps it was fine till raid time. He had an issue within raid and got angry about it and he told me he gets angry fast and he shouldn’t be because there is a baby in the house now so he apologized to me and quit the game. All good, I like wow anyways no worries but i lost my hype to the game since im now solo. I was like 610 when i didn’t want to play again.
It’s fine tho, what i want to ask is, I never ever tried playing Alliance in retail, i believe playing a different race that i have never tried before and a class would make me want to play the game solo maybe. If i start leveling one now, how hard will it be catching up for the rest of the dps players?
Unfortunately in retail, every single day dps players increasing their ilvl which makes it hard for low ilvl players to catch up but maybe with warband feature it is now changed?
Second is, can i transfer gold from a different realm and different faction to another realm and different faction? if so i can fund my alliance character so it would be kinda easy to catch up?
If it’s not possible I’ll just leave it but if i have a chance, i don’t mind you guys giving me tips about how to do it. I wonder if weeklies stack up and have a catch up mechanic, like if you start late you get more mats and stuff from them?
Assuming you queue immediately as soon as you reach level 80, you will be within 10ilvl from the best players within the first week. By week 3 you will be within 0-2 ilvl difference since you will have caught up in currencies.
Delves are a lovely thing for this. You also have veteran stuff you can buy, it’s pretty easy to catch-up. I don’t know how raids will be but you can also queue LFR.
Anyway, it might just take you some time, that’s all. Also higher M+ drops hero gear so you could even surpass people
Yep. Warbanks. Deposit gold inside. You can also deposit reagents and any other warbound item you want.
I second the Delves route for gear, if you do the bountiful ones at level 8 in groups or solo depending on your class it’s really good with the keys to get the gear from the bountiful chest. Providing RNG is on your side and doesn’t give you eleventy three trinkets
Since there is no catch-up mechanic for vault items i’d say no.
Vault tasks should give you account wide vault keys, so if you complete them and you roll an alt week 4 you should have 4 items for every character.
Doubt that . Higest ilvl people rn are 625 ilvl , no way someone not doing mythic raid will be 625 overal in 2-3 weeks . Also in 2-3 weeks those people will be 630+ .
As to OP , yes u can cath up gear, its quite easy especialy with friends .
basically you never catch up to the no lifers.
if you dont have a group to jump into higher keys you will be stuck a while at ilvl 606.
tben you need tons of crests to upgrade or be lucky if you ever get an inv to a +7 key to get hero gear and move on from there.
i was unlucky with my drops and fell quickly behind.
i reckon i am almost 2k rio on my priest and had no a single upgrade from m+ because running below keys below 7 is so pointless but it seems impossible to get an inv at 606 ilvl to +7s now.
tried running my +8 key several times but some dingdong tank always deleted my key within 1min of the dungeon
Why chase ilevels? Is it the only reason to play the game?
Gearing is easier in TWW but it’s still a grind. Do things you enjoy and some gear will come. It won’t be the highest tier but it will be enough. Unless you’re pressured to have mythic raid gear…
I really wouldn’t focus on trying to have the best gear or “catch up”, catching up to whom? Lots of people are at different skill and gear lvl, play with whatever content that is suitable for your ilvl and skill level, the important thing is to enjoy your time playing, thats it.
With the warband bank you can deposit money there and every character no matter the realm or faction can access it, including warband gear.
Delves are great for solo play and improving your skills, especially as someone who hasn’t played for a long time. You really don’t need a group anymore for gear.
If you get good enough with your class and want to push yourself in group content try to find a Guild.
I would look over races and their racial perks when creating a new character
