I’m tired about being queued for 240min and not being able to play game at all
And I don’t think Blizzard gonna provide free transfer, their strategy would be rather ignore players opinion, let their anger wither with time, and wait until enough players give up and transfer to another realm with their own money. (capitalsm it is)
And weekend comes, this queue problem gonna be worse. I’m not so deeply server-bounded so I’m considering about making a new character in another realm where I could play without any queue or lagging problem.
The only thing I concern is, in that case I have to play from 0 (no bags, no gold for faster flying etc.) and that’s why I’m asking, whether it is possible to send some gold and bags to my alt in other realm via post.
It is entirely possible to send gold to other realms but ONLY if the realms are connected, which if your realm was a realm that was connected with another you would not be in the situation where you’re asking this question as you wouldn’t be in the high queue boat that’s making you want to transfer away. Not to mention the connected servers you could send the gold to would be the exact same situation as the one you’re transferring from.
The only real way to transfer gold would be to buy ah items to take you under the limit then resell them on the ah of the new realm which can be fairly risky, or initiate a gold swap with a player from the realm you want to move to, which is also risky.
I believe actually there used to be a wood item or something similar that was intended to let you very uneconomically transfer more gold than the limit by buying it on the server you’re on then vendoring it on the new server.
@Physics: Directly, no. But there are two things that you can do, which will slightly alleviate the situation. First, put your new character through Exile’s reach, which will grant you a few bags. Second, you can sell battle pets on your new realm, which you have bought and learned from your old one. It is possible that you will lose gold in the process, but this does allow for at least a bit of cash for your new character.
Actually another idea for you that’s a bit outside the box.
Check the AH of the server you want to move to and see who sells a few mounts that require very expensive non bind on pickup vendor materials.
Try to contact that person and see if they are interested in buying the items directly from you rather than the vendor for the same price (or most likely a discount to entice them to do it)
That would let you transfer a chunk of gold, but its highly dependant on how many they would actually buy and how long you would be willing to wait to recoup it.
