I recently found out Halls of Valor M+ has that new shield called Skovald’s Resolve.
But it seems like it will be gone soon when the HoV M+ is retired in typical Blizz fashion.
In your experience how bad are the odds to get a very specific drop from M+ in general?
While I have more or less resigned to the fact that it will probably not drop until the reset, I am running several low keys as a paladin tank.
If it does not drop, at least I will have helped some groups find a tank for those low keys
Slim to none
I’m sure Blizzard have an Intuitive Program, like Oracle from the Matrix in their basement and it KNOWS when someone is hunting for a specific thing and lower the droprate to nonexistant…
Anyhow, I’m rooting for you you will have your drop!
Go Adalon! Go!
i need to farm gear every season from m plus to be able to raid properly…just play the dungeon till you get it…and when its only t-mog, then do it on very low difficulty 2-5, so you just blast the dungeon
Me and Funky did about 4 more runs, Now I totaled 8 runs so far.
I will try my luck again the next two evenings but it is not the end of the world if it does not drop, it will just be a be showing the problem of M+ in targeting loot.
This is probably the worst drop to farm the entire season, given that it’s a unique mog that’s about to go away, it’s from a long dungeon with like twenty drops for any given loot spec, and it’s not something just about anyone can loot for you. There’s a Wowhead comment about someone being at 70+ runs.
Here’s my rigorous proof for why it’s the worst:
Anything cool from NO, RLP, AV, AA, TJS and SBG can be farmed in and out of season.
Any other weapons from CoS/HoV do not have unique models.
Non-weapons from CoS/HoV can be farmed in m0. The weapons were added for S1 because Legion’s Artifact system didn’t call for such drops to exist, but we don’t have those anymore.
Even if CoS had something unique, it’d be faster to farm (shorter dungeon and smaller loot pool) than this shield.
Therefore this is objectively the most miserable endeavor you could undertake. I wish you luck! And I wish you other shieldbearers in the party.
Update:
I am at 30 Halls of valor runs now and no shield yet for me or anyone else.
I know someone who was still doing it at 50 runs and one who got it at 70 runs.
The droprate is dumb.
Is someone at Blizzard actually getting a kick out of doing these things?
