Is it too late to start TBC from level 1?

Just wondering if it is too late to start TBC from level 1? I don’t really know how long it would take to get from 1-70, if anyone has any ideas that would be great. I’d be playing a mage if thats any help.

As I know lots of people already have alts they will all be focusing on their mains that are 60 so would there be much open world content below 60?, and i didnt really play much in classic, if that would hinder me in any way while playing now?

i got level 60 in 1 day back in 2007 in TBC how hard can it be now :stuck_out_tongue:

Anything between 120 hours to 340 hours depending on multitude of different factors like are you gonna AoE grind, is there going to be competition, are you gonna use guides, are you gonna do dungeons, are you gonna do professions, your general pace of progress etc. etc.

Define “content” ? The leveling process is always the same. You do quests and kill mobs and progress by getting bigger numbers. Nothing is really different here aside from less lvl 60 characters randomly running past you and one-shotting you just for the spite of it

If you’re talking about open world PvP that hasn’t been a thing for like over a year really. It won’t be a thing in TBC launch either and the leveling zones are empty of players because of the booster editions that players bought that got them straight to lvl 58

Is it late? Not particularly.

Naaa dude no way, if you’re not 70 today you cannot ever get it, the game locks you on 69, and no guild would obviously ever take you to Sunwell, your account is marked as slacking, and you can’t queue arena because who’d create a team with a slacker, your community will obviously ban you from world chat too so you can’t socialise, and most likely you computer will explode if you even think of starting playing now

No.

I got from 24 to 60 in 3 weeks. TBC is going to last a couple of years at least. You have loads of time.

It’s never too late.

I had originally started TBC a few weeks after launch, and it took me months to get to 70 (not knowing the game, as well as having time constraints). My guild then had made it clear to me that if I were interested in end-game, they would support my effort and help me along the way. I ended up doing BGs, herb farming and world PvP mostly, but I never felt like I couldn’t catch up.

I’m sure that you will find a guild that will help you as a late comer! And as for the 1-60 content, there will definitely be fewer people around there than there was back then. However you should be able to do just about everything solo, as the world elite zones (e.g. Jintha Alor) have been nerfed (there are still elites in the world though).

yes, tier 4 has already been cleared.

My paladinsev 54 with 3 day 12 odd hours played. Not really rushed nor boosted. Just quested and did the zf solo 40-52 which probably saved 12 hours plus.

It’s not that bad. If you started now and played a few hours a day you’d be 70 by mid to late phase 1…which is still absolutely fine, people will be doing old content a lot on alts etc. You’ll still find people to play with

Thanks for the advice - Would I be able to do the ZF GY farm on my own as a mage from 40-52 as well?

Where do people get this notion that it’s “too late” to start playing a MMO? I’m really curious.

Mainly due to the fact that I think that people are leveling in TBC now, and me starting from 1, there would be not many people who would be leveling in classic now therefore the lack of groups for dungeons and quests.

Yeah for sure, mage probably easiest class to do it on

No you didn’t.

I can’t predict what your experience will be like with others leveling as well, or not, I assume there will be activity. But you can easily level without doing dungeons. If anything, I’d say take your time, have fun, don’t rush (unless that’s your thing obviously!). I’m guessing all the raids will still be done even by the end of the expansion, I very much doubt you’d miss out on that by arriving at level 70 a bit later

Hope you’ll have fun!

it is easy to level when u can boost urself with alt account :stuck_out_tongue:

I started last weekend and I’m level 16 I think, taking it easy.
I ain’t racing. There will be groups running stuff when I’ve done all the legwork to get to cap.

at level 14 u can kill level 22 elites whats gives 4500 exp kill for super fast leveling :stuck_out_tongue:
( if u play the TBC god class hunter it is super easy )

I only started from level 1 three days ago. I’ve not seen loads of people tbh and I’m almost 20 now.

There’s so much activity in LFG though for Outlands. You just gotta get your head down and plough through the 1-58 stuff (which is a lot faster with the xp nerf).

Layers don’t help with the world feeling empty, but there’s loads of people looking for stuff like WC and SM in between the Outland stuff.

It’s never too late.

Of course it’s not too late! I have 3 new alts I have started from lvl 1 just a week ago, they are coming along nicely.

Go for it! There is no need to rush, this is Classic not retail.

takes around 3-4 days played from 1 - 60 if you know what you are doing
