Is J-Morph allowed?

I mean that a lot of top-level high dps players use external help - like triggers etc etc. Helps to have more casts in per minute. None to do with MB and often not advertised either not discussed by streamers.

Sorry my English is a bit lacklustre explaining this.

Before the anti-cheat detection system (warden) was upgraded in Legion literally anyone could hack the client and/or modify game files without generally any ban or suspension. Then in Legion came the so called ”pages” which is a part of the WoW client that can see all programs active on anyone’s computer, sufficient to say if you hack now you will be banned.

That is why you should not hack (in this case hex edit morphs) by any means. The game will detect it and flag your account to be banned in the next wave.

Never saw the likes of anyone like cdew etc ever getting banned for it, its something which by the sounds of it is a client side edit which is why its always a touch and go subject even though you can get banned for it, its hard to prove when its something only on the player side being editted…however its better to play it safe and simply dont.

Definitely not safe to use, but if an automatic ban wave happens because of it I’d guess that blizz would reduce the penalties for it because it’s really harmless.

He did yes, for a month I think. Which seemed at the time a bit harsh given that the exploit was a bit of grey area for everyone.

It seems if you are a streamer you are more likely to be made an example of than given any preferential treatment when it comes to such things.

I don’t think so.

Any future use of software that bypasses the security of the game client, regardless of intention or gameplay advantage, will be detected and sanctioned with increased penalties.

The only third party programs that are allowed are programs that interact with the API, so addons and stuff like raidbots & raiderio.

File altering programs are prohibited.

Me too! I never go outside around Azeroth without a load of 35mm films and the trusty reflex :hugs::camera:

Almost every high rated pvp streamer uses this tool. Won’t name any of them but you can definitely find out on your own by dropping by twitch.

Ha. While I am screenarcher etc etc, the digital photography somehow misses part of the soul. I used to have my own darkroom and all.

So if someone wants to be madlad, they can report them for using it and those pvp streamers would be no more.

Oh this morph thing sounds really cool ! I googled it, I could run around looking like the real Tyrande :sob: it does not harm anyone so why not allow it Blizzard :frowning:?

Bannable, I wouldn’t risk it.

Because this isn’t a dress up game.

Transmog though lol

Transmog is transmog regardless but you aren’t even supposed to have names of major lore characters. Technically that’s a name offense.

nOt DReSs Up me greenskin, me fight !

So dramatic. Always wondered why people wanna spoil other people’s fun when it in no way affects them?

Because you’re altering the game files. It’s not allowed.

If it modifies the game files to change how actual things (models, spells etc) look/act/function, it’s bannable. Addons are typically safe because they add things, not modify the actual game files.

Always install addons from the Twitch client or site, never modify the actual game files (addons should go to your interface folder in their own “addons” subfolder), and never install any third party programs that claim to change WoW somehow, from any site.

No, J-morph isn’t allowed, neither is anything that does anything like it does. No, manually modifying your game files to change how your characters look isn’t allowed either. Changing your Alliance models to look like Horde ones comes to mind, even if only you can see it. Blizzard bans in waves, that’s why everyone has that story of that one guy who hasn’t been banned yet.

I mean most TTV super stars seem to get away unscathed using it time and time again. I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard about some youtubers etc who do use it get banned, but then again its the first time today too that I’ve done a /who grim batol and the only people in there were genuine players.

Indeed! Imo in analog photography there’s fun to take an image and double fun in the darkroom work, despite I’ve some DSLR; digital photography doesn’t thrill me like analog photography.

(What’s a Screenarcher?)
