I am asking because I am wondering whether you can kill a boss and THEN change your loot preference and get items for that spec.
This is also vague to me because of the many changes to the system, specifically personal loot, since that is generated specifically for each player, so I would assume there it would definitely be determined not on kill but on loot action. And you can trigger bonus rolls, too, so you apparently roll the die then.
Is there even any mob left where loot specs apply that does not work via personal loot?
On kill. It doesn’t matter what you do after the mob is dead: the loot has been decided and nothing will change that.
