I was blindly doing all DF content and got this Onyx Annulet with about 25 primordial stones laying around in the inventory taking up space. Do I scrap all of this? The item level on the ring seems low and it’s not on any BiS gear lists I’ve seen.
Fell out of the BiS lists for most dps classes even during Season 2, only thing the gems are still good for are to get some gold from the vendor.
No. Even 447 blue crafted rings with whelpling crest sims better results.
Well, it’s still good on my priest for healing, although by the time you get a 440 ring you should probably replace that ^^"
It was meant as catch-up for previous season, it has since been made redundant to a large extent.
Something like this could have kept forbidden reach relevant for the expansion. Simply let players go get new stones from the vaults. But no that would be too much.
It’s a fine balance. I feel like if they did it, a lot of people would have complained that they artificially kept old, not very good, content alive. It was also not super interesting to just go and get a bis ring from that type of content, atleast in my opinion.
I personally am okay with them putting it in as catch-up for a season and then letting it become obsolute with newer patches. I personally do not want to return to forbidden reach again. Just like I have no intention of returning to Zaralek Caverns unless I absolutely need to. Not very interesting zone or content.
works in timewalking
This has crossed my mind a few times. But at the same time it was a bit of a balancing issue, with some classes/specs benefitting a great deal more from it than others, and some specs having more benefit from stacking secondary stats instead etc. I enjoyed the concept, and I’d have liked further experimentation with it but at the same time I get they rather quickly made it redundant again.
Perhaps they could have kept the idea of the effect thingies, and that you can slot it into normal rings.
