Is PvE...boring?

It seems the only reason people play PvE is gear. They don’t see the point of engaging in PvE content if they’re not rewarded for it.

This indicates to me that doing PvE isn’t inherently fun, and that the fun comes from earning the loot at the end.

In contrast, people have been playing PvP for years, despite the fact that it either rewards bad gear, or too little of it. PvP players seem to enjoy the simple act of playing PvP.

So much development time is wasted on PvE.
Since it’s boring, repetitive and unchallenging, raids are made irrelevant in the spawn of 6 months, and dungeons are entirely replaced when the next expansion comes.
Battlegrounds and arenas, on the other hand, remain relevant forever.

Most big games nowadays are PvP oriented.
CS:GO, League of Legends, Fortnite - you name them.

Blizzard should change focus and make the game PvP oriented. They’d waste way less resources on developing content that’s doomed to be irrelevant, and they could bring the competitive crowd from other games here in WoW.

Seems some what disingenuous as PvP Loot/vendors is one of the things that has been most complained about.

It’s been complained about because PvE gear was more potent in PvP than PvP gear.
Which, I’m sure you’ll agree, does not make sense and leads to justified frustration.

I actually like PvP because of it’s currency based gearing system, which is the same reason I dislike the RNG system of PvE.

but there is bad matchmaking in rated bg and epics that makes it not worth doing

weekly quests for honor
people will not care to win even if the group leader titled it daily WIN
they are just there to farm honor by losing

game director ion is pve trash, they dont care about the pvp anymore, game is dieing, sunday morning arround 8 a clock it was 3 groups in group finder looking for player for rbg, thats 3 groups from all servers combined. game been out 1 month and already showing this bad numbers yikes! dont act suprised tho we seen wow failing and becoming a worse product then when it started we can only blame ourself thinking they still can deliver or improve

No, not really, it’s boring doing the same pve. lets say mythic +2 to +4 and not do new stuff for over 20 times because you dont get new gear to go and do harder mythics.

seems simple honestly.

That’s my point. That’s why PvE is waste of development time.
You guys need a constant flow of new content, you’re expensive to Blizzard.
PvP players would be much easier to please when it comes to content quantity.

You say that but alot of people dont like pvp or find it more boring then pve, I prefer doing PVE, the same one for hours then a single BG or arena, I find them boring, even if I win.

I sincerly doubt any mythic raider is doing it for the gear alone. That’s some serious time investment for something that could be achieved slower through m+.

So imo you’re missing the point.

Those who genuinely care about PvP will PvP. Those who genuinely care about PVE will PVE. Those who mostly care about gear will PVE because it’s both easier and more accessible.

Only pvp worth doing in the game is pet battles.

There is a lot more PvE players tho, if you remove PvE then all those leave = a lot less money

More then that, some of the most successful mmorpg games today dont have any serious form (or at all) of pvp, like FFXIV, ESO and MHW. so how do you explain that? why do they still exist? could it be because they do PVE better? hmmm… no, that cant be that.

agree
the epic and rbg are not worth doing you can hit a loss streak with bad groups

We also make up the vast majority of the playerbase. :man_shrugging:t2:

It would be the funniest thing though, imagine the new expansion overview at blizzcon and you get the grand total of -one- new arena map. I bet people would be ecstatic.

Actually why don’t we make all pvp gear scale to ilvl 200 and then ignore it for the rest of the expansion? They don’t need rewards or gear, pvpers will play because they enjoy pvp. They could funnel all the funds into pve content

the most popular games in the world are pvp games tho how u explain that

It would depend on which class you’re playing. Try finding partners as Elemental or Enhancement Shaman and you’ll realize that the PvE is much more consistent and less frustrating than PvP

It’s been complained about for all sorts of reasons so I don’t agree that it’s anything to do with PvE or PvP, it’s players. Players like rewards for content they take part in.

Low attention span people need constant stimulation and action, which is why stuff like fortnite and other shooter games are so popular.

The most popular game in the world is MInecraft though. Which is not focused on pvp.
