Is Rip worth casting?

Currently leveling a feral and I’ve noticed that Rip seems to do barely any damage compared to Ferocious Bite. It doesn’t seem to get stronger with levels either. Is there any point in casting a 5 CP Rip over a 5 CP Ferocious Bite?

Not on normal mobs when you level. But on elite mobs, you should definitely do it.

Rip if the target is going to live for about 1 min or more. You should take sabertooth. Use bloodtaloned rip when you have it.

Like whitepaw said. No, its not worth it for normal leveling mobs. Elites might live long enough to be worth it, but you just gotta ask yourself, “how long will this mob live?”

Alright so essentially if I pick Sabertooth in the first row the value I’ll get out of those 5 CP increases depending on how long I can keep it up.
Many thanks.

Look at my talent choices for feral. There is only that standard build. Change between primal wrath and brutal stash depending what you are doing.

1 minute or more? Rip lasts 24 sec.

I’m playing with Feral Frenzy and Sabertooth. That way you just rake, rip, feral frenzy and a 5cp ferocious bite to extend the rip to full duration. Easy peasy

It definitelly is worth it to cast it with 1-2 CPs since its dmg doesnt scale with CPs anymore. My opener on normal mobs is Rake -> Rip or Moonfire -> Rip if Im specced into that and not in prowl.

For leveling don’t pick Sabertooth. Value is very minor because it’s main use is to extend duration of Rip.

Take Predator instead. I use it in open world even at max level. You just toss Rake to target (stuns from stealth) and then you can spam abilities and use Tiger’s Fury on every mob because Predator resets TF cooldown if mob dies with your bleed on.

Basically even at max level with normal mobs I think this is best:
Stealth -> Rake -> Shred until 5cp, Tiger’s Fury when low energy -> Ferious bite.
