Is rogue tank viable?

I have just returned to sod , playing catch up getting through T1 gear.

Is it worth tanking as rogue in the later content bwl/naxx? Is it viable at all?

Have seen good performance from Rogues; they work well in Raids. However, I will say that all tanks have the issue of needing gear, but the ability to apply set bonuses to their gear/shoulders makes some of the gearing steps smoother.

I don’t know how you are geared, but there are points in a Rogue’s gearing process that can feel tough, whereas other tanks have a much easier time.

Rogue tank is viable, but i find the rogue tank playstyle clunky.

I stopped tanking because of it tbh.

Rogue tanks are superb in raids, so-so in dungeons. They can be great in dungeons tho, but they heavily rely on some tier bonuses which I think should be baseline (T1 threat increase for example), and alpha threat buff from shaman.

But yeah, with the right tier bonuses they are definitely viable.

Rogue tank was designed around reducing the average damage taken, by having a lot of avoidance. That means you have nothing to deal with spike damage. If RNG decides that you don’t avoid an attack twice in a row, or a boss uses a tankbuster, you just get crushed into the afterlife.

Works in 5 man content, but definitely inferior to literally any other tank in raids.

Roguetanks need the t1 2 piece bonus baked into their tankrune without they useless for aoe threat.
Also Blade Dance is abit wonky, if you fail to keep it up or cant put it up before you get hit prepare to get oneshot. If they could make it a permanent uptime spell with the legrune, not a combo pt use duration. Those 2 changes would have made roguetank alot better^. Also make Spirit of alpha buff implemented into all horde tanks runes, without threat is bad.
