So i leveled a rogue to 70, i was liking the class, getting some gear befor TWW, and i started doing raids. My ilvl is 485, but i feel that i suck. I mean in the last raid. I tracked my damage with details, and i’m on 11 or 12 postion in the dps ranks. I’m following wowhead and icyveins for the rotation, but i can’t seem to increase my positions. Any tips? Or should i change to an easier class?
Right now dps for classes is all over the place. Since prepatch everything is balanced around level 80 for the coming expansion. If you really enjoy this class i say stay with it and the dps will be allot better at level 80. Assassination does ok damage but the other two specs very little.

Im not sure people know that someone HAS to be at the bottom of the dps meter…
As stated above, armor is borked with the pre patch as they are no longer working on class for 70s, but 80 lvl tww. As far as the devs you are concerned, you are undergeared and 10 levels below what you should be
If you like the class stick with it and level it to 80. It should feel a lot better then.
The only spec doing well now is assa because bleeds ignore armor.
Assa is probably the only playable rogue spec for people who wanna play independent without being mr Xx_Stunbotmageslave_xX
And to be truthful with you, its not really a class for the average joe cause you are in current game forced to play like scum, man fighting most classes is really tough rn due to dps output being really high and trading 1 defensive as a rogue usually does very little to resolve the issue of taking lots of damage.

I totally agree. As an assa I have an easier time beating a warrior or a death night than a ele shaman, frost mage, shadow priest or marksmanship hunters or affic. They feel like they have a lot more stunts and mobility than me and in the case of some of those they have infinite self heal that makes it imposible to keep up with DoT no matter how high.
Not sure if its pre patch imbalance or casters are way op with more kiting and healing and defendives and stunts than most melees. But yeah Id take 1v1 a ret pal or a DH any time before a caster currently in the pre patch. It really sucks
