Is RX 580 8gb good or bad for SL

Hey man, kinda confuaed here, u mean GTX 580( nvidia) or RX580(amd)? Since u mentioned its 8GB i assume is RX(amd) and in that case it should serve just fine for wow, its way ahead of what required as minumum, but its not exactly “optimal” my bet would be at 1080p u can do about mid setings easy.
Ofc, this depends on your other parts, if u have good gpu and weak ram and cpu it will bottleneck it, and vice versa.

Tdlr : rx580 8gb is more than than fine to play SL without issues.

Nah, unless you have the personal computer equivalent of IBMs Watson forget it

Yeah but the game has been overhauled many times since then. This card was not.
At this point a 1080 is in the “recomended” shadowland specs.

I’ve got one with a Ryzen 5, 16gb ram and an ssd
Currently get 60fps easily at 1080p and max settings

Yes that’s true, but the card is surely enough for WoW and ofc is the 3070,3080,3090 better nevertheless you get rly much card for the cash if u buy a rx580. It all come down to if u want/can spend 3-10 times the rx580 budget.

RX 580 is good, I can run max settings on my RX 570

see this post on my RX 570:

(probably going to upgrade anyways for other games)

my RX 570 has no issues with my 1440p screens…

wanting a new fancy tech toy != needing an upgrade
nothing wrong with wanting something better but suggesting a RTX 3070 for wow is very very very very much an overkill

ryzen 7 2700x and gtx 1080 or vega 64 for recommended specs for shadowlands?
Not even games like anno 1800, control 2020 or flight simulator 2020 demand such high specs as recommended lmao.

Is that some sort of ahead of the curve scheme to push the blame on the player’s setup being " lacking " when they come out with a poorly optimized game?

2020 flight simulator recommended

  • CPU : Intel Core i5 -8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or better.
  • RAM : 16 GB.
VIDEO CARD : Radeon RX 590 or GeForce GTX 970
DEDICATED VIDEO RAM : 4096 MB

And compare it with SL.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 ( DirectX 12 compatible GPU with 8GB VRAM)
Storage: SSD, 100GB available space

Dunno, next will be NASA PC-s for WoW?

I have no clue about computers

so i just upgraded to a 1070 ti ( i think ) i9 core, 32 gb of ram

Just to make sure im covered for everything i do today lol, my old one is fine, but it cant even run my drawing tablet anymore without framerate issues :joy:

Indeed, did only mention 3070 if u rly consider to buy something more expensive, than will the 3070 be the best for its money :moneybag:

For an MMO like this game, the CPU is probably a lot more important.
I think though that if one wants to be on a smaller budget, they might as well grab one of those used GPUs that the graphical whales sell to get new ones.

There will be lot of cheaper series 1000 and 2000 in the used card market soon

Yes, I did buy the rx580 8gb and a 3700x. Runs smoothly! That’s why I say; don’t underestimate the rx580! good card for the money :moneybag:

well it IS an XX80 which means that it is enthusiast class as far as its generation is concerned

staring at the ground in elwyn forest when no one is around doesnt count as “60 fps at max settings”

Thanks for the tip man. Ripped my GPU out and sold it for SSD. I’ll just use my integrated intel HD graphics instead. Looking forward to smooth gameplay!

No, but running about raids does

Radeon RX 500 series were released in 2017.

2-3 generations actually, they aren’t that outdated, pretty cheap and more than enough to run WoW in HD.

Really? what is up with their model naming sense!?
