I wanna start leveling an alt and do pvp with it later, deciding between destro lock and shadow priest.
Sp is more represented in arena teams it seems, I guess its easier to play too?

no one can decide for you what you find more engaging in pvp to play you ll have to find out yourself.
however, i would expect destruction, although having never played it, to be a very frustrating spec to play at times.
shadowpriest is currently extremely good and also very fun in its current iteration - again thats just my opinion, youll have to test it yourself
as to what is easier: no single class and spec is really hard to play anymore, just hard to master. you ll get into everything pretty easily.
Lock is easier to play mechanics wise.
Priest has a higher representation since they are better vs melee trains. Which is the current meta.
Once gear (versat) goes up lock numbers will increase.
in bg where you have meatshield from all you teammates…yes
In arena getting massaged by melees 24/7…no its very frustrating.
It is strong. Yes.
Playing SP is absolute hell, because our whole toolkit gets countered, and we have null mobility. On the other hand, when we win, it feels satisfactory because at least we put some effort into winning, unlike some other specs which literally do PvE rotations on arenas.
Why is it literal hell to play SP?
For starters we have no mobility, whereas all melee have countless gap closers, embedded snares on their abilities, and what not.
I rarely play 3s, so I’m talking mostly from a 2v2 perspective:
Against melee:
You enter arena. You put dots up - they get insta dispelled. Melee connects with you. From that point on, he will be glued to you 24/7 no matter how well you play. You can juke - and if you do sucessfully, you can try to mindcontrol them - and I mean TRY, because:
If there’s a priest or shaman on the opposing team, it gets instantly purged.
If you manage to take the melee away from you, he’ll come back instantly due to their multiple CDs to do so, while you have zero snares, zero roots, and zero mobility.
Warr:
Charge, Heroic Leap, Ranged Stormbolt
Monk:
2 Rolls, Flying Sepernt Kick, Tiger’s Lust, Telepeort
Rogue:
Shadowstep, Sprint
Hunter:
Harpoon, Disengage, Ranged/LoS pet stun
DK:
Grip, ranged snare, ranged stun
DH:
Ranged stun, double dash, Imprission, backwards jump
Feral:
Feral Charge, Dash
Retri:
Ranged snare, horse and an option to have undispellable freedom
And this is considering that you’ve SUCESSFULLY mindcontrolled them away, because even if you juke a kick, they still have other semi-interrupts, like spell reflect, AMS, Paralysis, a stun, etc.
Then almost all melee have some form of “immunity”:
Spell Reflect
Cloak of Shadows
AMS
DH immuinity when talented (I can’t remember the name)
Grounding Totem (which can be killed)
Touch of Karma and Diffuse Magic (the later isn’t a full immunity, but reduces damage taken and reflects your dots backs to you)
Then you spend the whole arena trying to put dots up against a multitude of ways they have to interrupt you - and whenever you’re able to put dots up, they get insta dispelled - holy palas can even dispell dots from two targets at once with a talent, while also using an aura which reduces shadow damage their team takes.
If the team has a resto shaman, you’ll get double interrupted all the time, on top of Grounding Totem out of LoS of you, etc.
Against casters is slightly less annoying, because at least you have some breathing space. Still, mages, locks and elementals can make your life absolute hell too, with the amount of CC etc.
SP is strong, but unfortunately it’s just REALLY frustrating to play as.
Your dots get dispelled
Your every CC can be dispelled
Power Infusion can be dispelled
Dispersion heal can be nullified with stuff like cyclone and imprision
You have no snares, and no mobility against specs that have an overabundance of it
I can’t speak how it is to play destro though
Well thats very sad to hear but I assume its true. Still I see a lot of high rated Sps both in 2v2 and 3v3.
Like I said, it’s VERY frustrating to play as, but it’s a viable spec nontheless - in 2s at least it just makes you want to gouge your eyes out.
In 3s, at least from what I’ve seen in the tourny, SPs were rarely focused, making it a much better experience to play as. But being trained 24/7, interrupted and dispelled it’s just really really really annoying
This
Vs Turbo with rshaman 2x grounding 2x tremor 2x windshear 1x warri kick 1x spellreflekt 1x stormbolt 1x fear 2x Hex
Casters overall feel better to play in 3s than in 2s, I’d say. Even when you’re the one that’s focused down and have to stick to the defensive side of things, your partner can still either peel for you to make it a little bit easier or use the positioning you lead melees into (as the tunnelled target, you’re the one that dictates where the game is played if you’re chased) in order to make things happen. Where in 2s you often lack kill potential when you’re sat on, in 3s you have the additional teammate to make up for that. Also, since SP is relatively tanky compared to other casters, there is a chance they’ll instead focus down your teammate.
SP feels rly good right now and works with any comp. I’m not sure why other SPs say we dont have movability - we actually have great movability and survivability if you dont waste it.
Turbo is unironically quite fun to face, since they expect to be able to sit on you the whole game but you can just kite them and watch them melt
Mind games is incredibly strong into enhance aswell if you time it right and fake ground/reflect
In 2s it is also pretty good - but for the sake of your own sanity I advice playing double dps as sp
Well the question was “fun”. And if you can frecast and do whatever the hell you wannt…it is fun.
But if youre focused…its not fun…especialy if youre learning the spec.
The class itself is very strong either way.
How you kite turbo ?
Those high rated spriests play since tbc and have been playing with other rank 1 players.
I’m of the opinion that no caster has been fun to play in arena since Legion.
Spriest is definitely one of the stronger ones though.
enough said here, imo playing spriest in an arena context isn’t really what can be called fun in this current meta, but I couldn’t care less if my class is good or not. if you don’t mind and you want something that works and has a couple of really good comps go for it, if you want to lead the game and be quite autonomous unless you are really good at it forget about it.
you can watch vod from my queues yesterday that my lock was streaming twitch.tv/fearmydear - had a turbo at around 3.1mmr trying to train me.
Main things you want to do is to have vault legendary (clears slows, 2x grips), then I use void elf and I fade when slows are about to fall off (if they are both on me). I try pre-cast door of shadows before they connect to me to avoid slows aswell.
It is really situational, but very fun once you get the hang of it
Nice thanks
if u want to spam shadow mend and mindgames yes its fun
Why comment about a spec you have no understanding of?
