Is the average Alliance player really worse than average Horde player?

Also shamans are much better in PvP bgs that paladins. Shamans can literally oneshoot people from distance, run with the ghost wolf, grounding totems to redirect casts, AOE slow, etc etc

Paladins have… bubbles and 0 gapclosers? Is ridiculous. Also horde racials are much better for PvP. A tauren druid can take the flag in WSG aoe stun and run away.

Also the WSG map helps horde more that alliance with the glitches. Everything is design to make horde players feel better.

Because of these facts the “best” players prefer to play in horde for min-max stuff, further increasing the balance in favor of the Horde

Not my problem

gap between horde and alliance is greater then ever as paladins sux this patch and shamans rocks. not sure if it will ever change looking at the runes.

In my experience horde tends to win most small scale BGs and alliance bigger scale BGs (AV, isle, ashran).
Same experience in SoD. Horde wins more WSG and AB while alliance wins more Ashenvale (on balanced layers).

mega skill issue

alliance losses a lot more in bgs because a long long time ago the good alliance players decided to stop carrying the bad ones and just premade. this has not occured to such a degree on the horde side, because a great number of the horde actually picked it to pvp and enjoy doing pvp for fun

I used to have this opinion as every character I’ve ever played was horde, but for SOD we rolled alliance to be the “underdogs”, so far I’m off the same opinion that horde has just as many bad players.

I’ve lost count of the number of people that have used their PVP trinket against my charge stun.

Didnt read all but on lava-lash 9/10 WSGs are won by alliance. Ash does not give me rep anymore. 1k weekly rep with 1 Wsg win is laughable if you want exalted, and doing it again for an alt or something where you have 0 rep, its even worse.

However, we are pretty 50/50 on AB.

Dont forget the big ones

  • “Guys let them win, go next”
  • AFK after first death

Edit:
Also alot of players /afk out at the initial collision making ally seriously disadvantaged in numbers until there is finally group without quitters

That’s simply not true. Paladins are a great class to have on your team, amazing utility, survivability and good damage. However the vast majority are ret players that refuse to do any supporting and instead will play the class like a warrior.

Can you tell me in what aspect of the game a paladin is better that shamans in Bgs?

Shamans can kill people from distance like if there were mages. Shamans can also now tank so they are excelent frontliners. Shamans use grounding totems and absorv spells (this disrupt a lot casters). Shamans can use totems to slow in AOE. Shamans can purge beneficial spells like for example blessing of freedom. Shamans can run as druids (for example for WSG).

All builds from shamans are good.

Paladins in the other hand are slow and the only thing they are good for is because divine shield with a 5min CD.

Stun on a short CD, high damage, very high survivability, many extremely valuable buffs for the team, freedom, bubbles which allows it to be highly disruptive, heals. Paladin is a very good class to have on your team, the problem as previously stated is rets try to play it like a warrior.

Most Alliance Players in SoD are way below Average Paladins that only run around in Groups and instantly bubble once somebody just looks at them.

He really is, dude has a sad little life

all the same. next.

The range of support is pretty limited as Bgs are full of shamans. most of BOP, freedoms get purged. I had high hope for the Sacred shield rune but the numbers are laughable around 130-150 absorb every 6 sec. it did not bring any value in this bursty meta.

just name one think apart of 5min cd bubble and 1hour cd heal that ret does better then sham.

Stuns would be one.

Alliance main, horde alt. Id say so yes but for a couple of reasons.

  1. Paladin is just straight worse than sham in pvp
  2. The top players for both are equally good but the skill drop off is steeper on alliance.
  3. Alliance is a bit more populated do there are more of the bad players
  4. A lot of allys ive seen run around with pure pve speccs in the open world while almost all horde ive seen have had some kind of pvp setup allmost anywhere but that is quitr anecdotal, even more than the rest
