Been trying to do all kind of 20’s this week.
Now I know that since this is only week 2 and tyranical not that many players are geared to do it easily but every single time it’s the same issue.
Find 3 dps almost instant ( can pick what I want with ease ), usually a couple of tanks show up too.
And then it’s just 20 to 30 minutes of waiting for a single healer to queue up. This is getting obnoxious and just killing my drive to even try higher keys unless I have a dedicated healer friend to push with honestly.
+20 is very high key for week 2 of season . Add to this that max gear is from +18 now and people have no reason to push for portals untill they will be 490 itlv - especialy healers
Generally the first few weeks there is a shortage of healers/tanks cause of abundance of dps mains trying to gear up. This becomes alot better later down the season when most players just do their weeklies/gear up alts, and tanks and healers are most common.
Only advice I can give you that seems you’re doing wrong is NEVER start the group with 3 dps. Always try to get a tank or healer first inside, unless there is REALLY overachieved dps in the queue. The way you are doing it you are filtering any kind of tank/healer that queues up with his friends.
I think the problem is… Originally, healer was an easy role… so many healers are not very good players. You can be not so good DPS and no one will notice… or, they will but everyone will stay alive so it’s not the end of the world… After the changes, the healers who was afk before in dungeons, realized they have to heal and work as a hard dps spec or more, so they can’t do it and don’t want to do it
High keys are obviously easier for healers, because low keys are hell (I find them entertaining) but you have to do them. Also healers, who don’t understand what’s going on, might think that heir healing is bad but actually it’s DPS failing every mechanic on a boss fight.
Basically, healing isn’t that hard, but most healers are either bad/afraid to do high keys. I don’t think blizzard can do anything about it.
I just started healing, not very high keys, but I find it more relaxing than playing aff/destro lock and stressing about my DPS when I do “everything right”… I will go higher, but I can say that healing is fine, bad dos are the problem
That may be true for some, but for others it’s not a question of difficulty but fun. I have no problem healing, and I have guildmates who are much better at it than I, but they prefer to DPS simply because it gives a better game experience for them.
I emphasize that neither they or I am struggling with healing. It’s just less fun than DPSing.
It’s the beginning of the season as well as bursting. Healers either stick to their parties or are having a vacation somewhere close to the Indian ocean.
Also, I’ve found healing to be way to punishing recently, that’s why I’m currently a magnificent boomie rather than a grass-eating resto. Can’t imagine healing pugs in 20+ Throne, for instance. This inst is a disaster mechanics-vise.
A very ignorant comment from a DPS player. You have no experience in healing yet you make assumptions like healing isn’t a hard role. It hasn’t been easy for a couple of expansions now and it’s only gotten harder this expansion.
The difference now is only the hardcore mashochist healing lovers are left, who are few and far between. Casual healers will start to see the difference once they push high keys while pugging.
Maybe read all
I’m healing and I don’t think it’s harder than a hard DPS spec, it’s only hard when people don’t know what to do and fail the mechanics.
I also use discord for healers and many say it’s easy, and as you go higher, it’s only gets better. Healing less, doing more DPS. Ah, and my husband’s alts also are healers
lack of healers is one of many reasons but yeah it seems to be dying . i mean there are MANY people doing keys right now but so far this season looks like it’s gonna end up like s2. many people are just done with m+ for various reasons . i’m playing btw this is just an observation not a hate post
