Last night I ground through 4 tw dungeons to get my weekly. the mobs seem insane to me taking agessssss to kill however bosses seem quite average.
So after grinding for hours through all the mobs through all the rediculously long and arduous dungeons (by the end I was begging for the black morass for a break) only to get given a pair of 355 bracers with crap stats… Really after hours of grinding I got nothing
.
Seriously what is the point Legion rewards were far better then the stuff we are getting now and blizz would it kill you to give us dk some plate armour with HASTE you know the stat we need 20% of to be fully playable.
Is 8.1 going to fix this? Or is tw over and done with now send it out to pasture and leave it there.

This is the point for me
But it costs 5000 Timewarped Badges…
With this scalling and slow mobs-killing… I`ll get this mount in 20-25 years if WoW still exist by then.

I do it so that I can get the badges to buy rep tokens for the old reps. You can also use them for heirlooms and other miscellaneous stuff aswell.
You can also do it for fun, if you like them? And just not do it if you don’t like them? Not everything in the game has to be an aid to the progression treadmill, some things can just be there for fun
I’ve got all the mounts… Well most of the mounts I need the bc ones and the upcoming wod ones.
But farming tw badges just isn’t fun, as you quite rightly said it just takes far far far to long to finish a dungeon and it’s so tiring I don’t want to run it on an alt.
Surely blizz can implement a classic mode or somthing, I’m not asking for one shots because then what’s the point but surely the dungeons can be made less of a grind fest.

I do them for the (small) chance to get an item upgrade and also for the badges so i can buy mounts and pets. Certainly running through them with my guild makes the whole process significantly easier and quicker I would imagine.
I know some of my friends like to do them simply b/c they enjoyed the dungeons from that particular xpac.
I’m not sure but I guess they may feel harder b/c we are at the start of the expansion now and the TW dungeons scale your gear accordingly. Perhaps TW at the end of BFA will feel easier b/c the gear we have then will be much higher? I only say this as at the end of Legion these TW dungeons did feel a lot easier than they do atm, even though they are not what I would call difficult right now.
I got everything from TBC and Cataclysm timewalking events, but still missing 2 toys and mount from WotLK as well as the mount and both pets from MoP timewalking.
If you got everything from current TW events you can still do TW dungeons to farm badges for the incoming WoD TW or use badges for buying heirloom upgrades or rep tokens. You can also do TW dungeons for Infinite Timereaver mount, it can drop from any TW dungeon boss but the drop chance is very low.
the point is another way to get gear and its disguise as new content. It does its job, pretending to be content and also provides some gear. I tell you, its a very handy way to get gear for alts … loot drops from bosses and then the weekly too.
The fun, the reward. If 355 is too low for you as a reward or you are not having fun in TW, do something else. I healed my 5 in a row and it went like a breeze with 0 deaths and slapped the reward instantly on my toon.

I just got into time walking on my horde alt and I am doing it for the mounts. It is not enjoyable because people forget they are scaled down and think that they can still super pull mobs. I was in one of the TBC dungeons last night and we wiped 7 times on the same boss, because the tank kept over pulling and apologizing. Finally I just left the group, as it was wasting time. I get that wipes will happen but 7 times was just too much for me.

Well, the Emmissary of War quest specifies that the reward is a piece of Normal Uldir gear. Normal Uldir gear is 355. If you didn’t consider 355 gear to be enough of a reward for the Emmissary, I’m at a loss as to why you persisted in pursuing that reward.
Also, your point about Timewalking rewards being better in Legion is factually untrue; Timewalking rewards in Legion were the exact same as they are now: a piece of Normal gear from the current raid.
Only difference is Legion didn’t have the Warfront loot pinata so Normal raid gear actually had some value in the gear progression… But that is not a problem with Timewalking itself.

Timewalking is an step towards ‘nostalgia’ from Blizzard for those that want to do older content as it was at level, rather than running through it at max. level one-shotting whole rooms of mob’s… esp. if you power-level through content to get to current max. level or L110 boost.
Another upside is that it can help fill gaps in gear with ‘current’ level rewards…

Some timewalkers do need retuned, and yeah the rewards from them aren’t that great but you do need to consider they are only for an alt or a lucky Titanforge. There are definitely a fair few dungeons in TBC that are over tuned, makes me wonder what Pit of Saron is going to be like when Wrath timewalkers are up…
If you do higher content on your main and they’re like 370+ and you are expecting a massive upgrade from a cache that you know rewards 355+ then that’s the player problem.
I have all of them, except the drop mount.
It doesnt take 20-25 years, but less than 10 months. If you do 1 tw every month for the 500 tw points from the quest drop, you will be well over the 5000, bc you also get some from the dg and in the dg. As tank you also often get a bonus.
If you don’t think they offer you anything then you are better off not doing them. I find them very dull and offer no reward worth the suffering. So I skip it most of the time.
I do a lot of TW dgs. Often skip Panda though, bc i hate most of those dgs.
Used the TW tokens for mounts, rep tokens an odd faction i missed, to lvl alts and get them geared faster once they reach 120 (320 gear tw gear!)
And for fun of course. I like BC, TW and Cata dungeons.
Have several toons with over 5k tw tokens, just in case new stuff is added on the vendor. (vanilla, draenor?) And all my toons, even lvl 19s have at least 1k of tw tokens, just in case.
It may be boring with a group of well geared 120’s, but im not seeing much of those. Not sure though, bc i often have no time to inspect.
TW dgs can be tough as nails on lvling toons. Even failed at black morass day before yesterday. (low dps group)
A tip for time walking. Farm a set of gear from BT / Sunwell for BC and from ICC for Wrath. The stats make you that little bit more OP’d than our present gear scaled down.

Pit of Saron in WotLK Timwalking was already nerfed to oblivion within 3 days of it appearing. I daresay even with the current hoo hah over scaling you would need 5 blind players to wipe there continuously, even on the hill right after Ick n Krick.
Time walking itself serves a few purposes, most if not all already pointed out. I’ve been doing them since they started so have all the toys and mounts even the drop. Just takes a bit of farming and not waste them on crap.
get 335 gear tp up your WQ rewards and Azerite caches.
That’s it really.
It’s one of the must frustrating experience in the game by a far, but at least, few hours and you do what could take you days of gated content.
Oh, my “Weekly Holidays” were unchecked in the filter. Never saw it in the calendar before. I though this Timewalking event is up just once a year
Its not that hard to farm then.
I didn’t bother with TW this time, except for 1 dungeon for the 500 tokens quest.
We wiped liked 4 times. Horrible experience. TBC was already my least favorite expansion of all time and this isn’t doing it any favors.
Yes, they should definitely do something about those mobs.
Having TW be more difficult than Mythic is just plain wrong.
PS: Posting on an alt because I can’t on my main. I suppose this bug will be fixed in… never?
