Is there a reason not to AFK in Wintergrasp?

I just had a match where we held all the workshops, made a big charge of tanks and rushed in and got stopped in the courtyard. Next followed 40 MINUTES OF NOTHING…just trying to get through and failing. In the end, all of our towers stood and we LOST.

I honestly don’t understand why people shouldn’t just afk out when they find out they’re on the attacking side. The lazy attitude of the devs and balancing these things really bugs me >.>

WoW PvP is terribad, 1/3-2/3 grp are AFKing. Just farm honor to upgrade gear, they don’t interested in PvP in general. There can be only intresting games when gear stop matters in PvP. Not only this map - all maps.
For example Ashran - 2/3 go flowers then AFK, AV - rush and AFK, Wintersgrasp - AFK in def, full afk and mass leavers attackers, IC - If win docks AFK, lost docks AFK. Casual BGs - 21-25K players get roflstomped by 38-44K premades. Idk what people want from that terrible PvP?

Yes there is a reason not to afk wg. Leave Bg when attacker is faster anyway… and most of us have alts as well.
In fact getting WG in epic Bgs is a big reason to to touch epic Bgs ever again.

No, just leave and do something more productive and fun. Sad but it’s the reality right now.

Nope, as soon as I see I’m attacking now, I insta /AFK. I don’t care if we play and lose but the possibilty to win has to be somewhat equal at the start, otherwise wtf is the point? I do the same now with normal BG’s, if I see they are a premade, I leave as they have pretty much removed the possibility of a fair game or a fair possibility of winning. Spend more time in queues these days than actual BG’s.

Winning Wintergrasp attack is easy if you coordinate to win the Sunken teamfight at the beginning, build vehicles and deliberately target the enemy cannons. But this is the problem. Few people can, or are even willing to work together to do this. As a result a lot of people have been led to believe a win as attack is impossible, so they give up before it’s even begun. Defence will automatically win unless half the team go AFK.

It’s a boring BG for attackers as it’s usually over before it’s begun, and it’s boring for defence because after you destroy the towers you still have to wait 25 minute for a win. At least they get a win. It needs a total revamp IMO, or the option for players to blacklist it so only the people who want to play it can. Then attack would be in with a decent chance.

nah you can then proceed to kill the first wall, after that the def will have 16 demos shooting on the entrance of the wall so everyone gets one shotted, including the vehicles.

Then you cap the other two workshops, so they have 8 vehicles and you have 24. But in reality people give up when they think they’re gonna lose.

but you can have 16/8 vehicles, so it doesn’t matter if you lose all workshops because your vehicles will never get destroyed

If you outnumber the enemy demos, you will eventually destroy them, and then they won’t be able to build them back. Either way, people just give up when they think they’re gonna lose. You’ll have people who just AFK when any first push fails.

you cannot even reach them, because the only entrance you got is bombarded by demos. you enter you die instantly
