Is there a reason the Dark Portal to Outland only works one way?

In Hellfire Peninsula it acts like a green wall. What’s the deal with that?

I know it’s not supposed to be the main way to get to Outland, but for example there’s a quest that sends you to buy a drink from Blasted Lands, and you have to fly to Shattrath, portal to your capital, and get to the Blasted Lands from there. All that instead of just stepping through the Dark Portal.

That’s because it’s not there anymore. It’s been replaced with the WoD one.

Well, Khadgar is Azeroth’s resident Dark Portal opener, maybe after destroying the one in Draenor, the one in Outland went offline as well.
