Is there a universal chat channel?

I was just thinking about how some of the best and sometimes weirdest chat used to go on in barrens chat. but if at any time, you wanted to go quest in other areas, you’d lose that chat. it just crossed my mind… should there be a channel that can be active everywhere you go? surely that would improve the social workings of the game? if we can just chat to anyone in the game…

I’m not talking about communities of course. communities have a limit to how many people can join and they tend to get clogged up by alts.

Trade chat is probably the best you’ve got. On my realm it is a pretty wild place at the very least.

In any case, such a chat would be hidden by default which would immediately make it have less traffic. And I think it would also be filled with advertisers as well, so I’m not sure if it would do anything.

There’s LookingForGroup which you can join, as far as I know it’s the only official truly global chat out there.

I think at this point Blizzard should add a global general chat, seeing as most old zones chats are pretty barren at this point.

They did introduce it a few expansions ago (can’t remember which one) but it didn’t last long. I don’t know why, it was good.

As long as it doesn’t have the 2 posts every 30 second limit.
