Is there a way to remove the shadow priests shadow blur from gear?

Is there a way to remove the shadow forms shadow from the gear?
I mean…i want to use my transmogs…but i can’t see jack sh*t because of the shadow forms shadow bs.

Even with the glyph to remove somewhat from the shadow forms shadow on gear…its not enough…

At this point…for shadow priests …our looks either don’t matter…or we should’nt even bother with it.

Is there something we can do?
I’m even down to modifying script data from the game…

This is just silly…

Why create all this customization updates and transmog updates if all you can see is a shadowy-pink blur on your screen that should be your character?
Whats the point of it then?

Shadowform is the reason i wanted to play Priest initially, it just looks so cool. I find it hard to understand when people don’t like it i would have it darker with more purple loveliness if i could.

It’s outdated thinking.
Think about it…a shadow priest is just a priest who uses shadow magic.
Key word: uses.

You don’t see mages turning into candles or popsicles unless they use they big CD abilities. And that is because they use that element magic …they don’t turn into them.

It’s the same concept…Shadow Priests USE the powers of Shadow…they don’t turn into Shadow. If they were to turn into Shadow then they should be super-dupper powerful because there is a huge power gap between using power or turning into power. (think about it logically)

But coming back to our current situation, answer me this:
-what is the point of transmogs for shadow priests if you only see is a dark-pink blur on your screen while playing?
-what is the point of all this new awesome customization if all you see is a dark-pink blur on your screen while playing?

HOWEVER…to be perfectly honest:
-The new expansions customization options like jewelry options, eye options, face, chin, nose, etc. …it’s so over-hypet is ridiculous, because i just cant see you play the game so zoomed in that it would matter (raid/m+/pvp). The only time it matters is in the loading screen…the rest of the time the only thing that meters is your transmog. That is the only thing that you actually see in-game, while fighting/raiding/etc.

Am i wrong?

Some transmogs look better in Shadowform than they do out of it. Some colors end up looking completely horrid while in it and at the same time, you can put together sets that would otherwise look off due to different colors/shades but they get blended together nicely in Shadowform.

Last I checked, character customization isn’t spec specific, maybe the person also plays Holy/Disc, so they can see that stuff there. Also other classes exist outside of priest, it’s not like Shadow priests have some spec related options in the customization.

I know it’s there, it can add to a nice transmog and I don’t ever see having more customization being a problem just because you don’t look at it most of the time.
Other people can still see it as well, so why not. And during breaks, or just running/flying around for wqs/old content, I can zoom in to see my character and think “Ah, this looks really nice together.” Some of the options (such as tail sizes for draenei) are also clearly visible even outside of that and add nice flavor. Not to mention the game no longer allows zooming out so far away that you can’t see these details normally. Sure, they aren’t the focus of your attention in raids/pvp/m+ but neither is transmog. Perhaps I can’t speak for everyone, but when I’m raiding or doing m+, I barely notice what my transmog is. My focus is on everything else that’s happening around me and will kill me or my group if I don’t do that. Doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate that I have more options to customize my character with.
People also play this game for roleplaying, where more options are an absolute bonus.

I agree with both sides. On one hand, some people prefer the shadow form as a look for their priests. On the other hand, some people dislike that.

What everyone can agree to is that it should come as a choice and not a forced option. Either make a glyph that removes it, come up with a new design for it, or simply take off the 10% spell damage increase so that you are not forced to be in shadow form.

Yazzle knows.

This is something that can’t be discussed…because my taste in “fashion” might not be like yours. Meaning what i like, you might not like…and vice versa. Also, i usually use Tier Sets for transmog…and for me…all of them suck in shadowform.

This post was made specifically for Shadow Priests. So in that context you still look like a dark-pink blur on the screen.

Again…you misunderstand…i am not complaining about the customization option…i’m complaining about the shadow form dark-pink blur that does not let me see the customizations and transmogs.

yes please. It’d be amazing if the 10% dmg buff was just baseline + shadowform was purely cosmetic. Although … maybe it could be similar to the druid tree form from legion? remove movement impairing abilities if you switch to it or some other minor benefit? That way it’d still have a practical use.

If it can’t be discussed, why did you bring transmog into it in the first then? In fact, why even bring this whole topic up in the first place because it’s completely based on opinions that are going to be different?

because he wants another option that isnt in the game while you have your in the game. do you not want others to have the option they like because you have yours available?

Can’t you glyph it to make the effect more transparent? Is that still a thing?

He also asked what’s the point of transmog for Shadow if they can’t see it. I gave my point of view on it and was shut down with “Can’t discuss this because it’s a matter of opinion.” Not liking Shadowform visuals is also a matter of opinion, so either we discuss all opinions related to it, or we discuss none. It’s pretty hypocritical otherwise.
That has nothing to do with whether something is in the game or not.

Considering that I said this:

I don’t see how you ever came to this conclusion. I don’t give a single damn if we get a glyph to completely hide Shadowform, more choices is always better. I just cba with people starting a discussion that’s based on opinions and then shooting others down by saying you can’t discuss opinions because they are a matter of taste when your opinions turn out to be different.

You can, but it’s still pretty purple. Non-glyphed version is like a dense mass of purple, you barely see anything about your character whereas the glyphed version is like slapping a purple filter over your regular toon: you see most of the details but the colors are all muddled with that purple hue.

@Rainbrew - Why so triggered man? …have a tea and calm down…or maybe a rain-brew :wink:

i know what you said and you already stated that even though you like shadowform there must be more costumization for those that want it and thats cool. he didnt phrase himself well but your opinion liking it doesnt need to be discussed since what you like is already in the game. we dont want to be take that away from you we just want more costumization thats all . peace bro

The current shadowform is inferior to the old one… personally the visuals was also part of why i went after shadow but now its a weird looking purple fart and then when you use the glyph to alter it, it only removes the “smokey” effect which pretty much turns you into a lava lamp.

And it’s because of everyone’s diverse opinions on this issue that shadowform should be a choice and not a forced option in order to respect everyone’s wishes.

I think it would be neat if the intensity of the shadowform visuals corresponded with your insanity level.

While you’re chilling in a city or whatever, you can enjoy your nice transmogs.
In the middle of battle, the shadowyness of your char will ebb and flow as you build and spend insanity. Maybe would need a ramp-profile to the visual effect so it doesn’t look so stark/flashy when your insanity jumps significantly.
