Is there a way to turn off the Profession Equipment appearing when you use your profession?

It really is the most annoying feature added in DF.

You enchant a ring, and 5 minutes later you realise you’re not running around in your usual transmog.

I’d rather just not have it tbh.

Can’t you just right click the buff off?

I don’t want the buff to appear at all.

Uhm, okay? It’s a pretty trivial thing to complain about it. But I understand some people thrive off complaining and need it in their lives to survive day to day. Just right click it off, it’s not a big deal lol.

Hmm… odd reply.

I wouldn’t really call it trivial. In fact it’s quite disruptive. Sure I can right click it. But when you’re crafting as much as I do, it becomes quite annoying having to right click it every few minutes.

And FYI, I’m not really complaining. I’m just asking if there is a way to turn off a new feature which I find quite annoying. But I guess there are some people out there who thrive on trolling and need it to survive their day ;).

Thanks for your suggestion about right clicking, it however doesn’t fix my issue.

Yes, there is an NPC to talk with so you can turn it off completely.

Ah thank you! Would you happen to know which NPC it is?

Edit - No Worries found it - Mahra Treebender at Ruby Lifeshrine in Waking Isles.

thanks again.

Your google skills are fast. I blanked entirely on where the NPC was and did not think to search the internet at all.

I just figured it had to be one of the profession NPCs, so started at the start.

I was actually looking for something in the menus, or the Profession UI, as it would make more sense for it to be there than on some random NPC we go to once at the very start of the expansion and never again ;).

WoWhead said the mob is at Ohnahran Plains SE corner. Or is it at both places?

Also… thanks for this thread. I too was looking for a way to turn this off, because the equipment just ruins my hair…

Found Mahra Treebender in Valdrakken, right next/behind to the Tailor’s work table, sitting on the ground.

If my memory is correct, I have noticed the npc in different locations. So I would guess that she had a spot in every one of the DF zones.

Could be in both places I guess. They tend to copy and paste a lot of NPC’s.

My Pleasure!

Made me Lol

I for sure noticed the NPC in Valdrakken
it gave me multiple options to turn off equipment appearances for every profession.

I’ve tried using the NPC to stop it happening but the next day it’s back on and I have to visit the NPC again.

There’s a female tauren next to the ‘tailoring’ stand in the main hub.
You can choose to turn off various outfits there. It seems to be bugged for mining though, since it still appears when I mine (can’t say if that’s true for other professions).

So I guess just bug report, so that the NPC starts working like she’s supposed to.

I would like those outfits if they could be transmogged. But I don’t like them being forced on me when I do professions; to me that just feels useless and annoying (and in the case of mining; it ruins my regular outfit when I’m out and about).

It only turns off the outfits, not the tools (the mining pick and fishing rod).

However it is indeed still bugged. Even if you turn them outfits off it comes back again the next day.

Ah yes. Blizzard strikes back with it’s Limitations in Choice.

Much like how they don’t let you change your Profession Talents, even if you make a mistake.

They tend to do that with new features.
/Looks at the measly 4 mounts for Dragonriding

No. That’s completely different.

Well, it’s there to stop people from respecting to craft different items, and then respec again to craft something else. Understandably.

However it does 2 things:

  1. Absolutely screws over people who make a mistake. Which I imagine is probably something very common.
  2. Takes away your independence.
