Is there an alternative to shields?

It’s my own preference, but I hate how shields look on my shaman.

They can’t be transmogged which is a shame and I know the armour bonus from a shield is really helpful in PvP as elemental but I just really don’t like them.

Is using a different off-hand type viable?

If not, does anyone know of any shields that don’t look like shields?

I also dont like them.

What I do is transmog a backpack (or similar mog) instead of a cloack. When you do that, the shield dissapears from your back.
