Is there any Dragonflight lore tl;dr?

Enjoying the game so far, but every time I see a cinematic I can’t stop thinking “what is this all about ? maybe I should have read the quests…”

And then I usually think “haha, no. These quest texts are usually 80-90% boring and provide little info or not in the best way.” Maybe I’m wrong.

Anyway, I feel a little bit disconnected from the lore for once. Maybe because shadowlands was very disappointing for me. But just in case I miss something interesting, just in case, is there a tl;dr version somewhere ?

Just read the main campaign quests then!
Or skim read them.

The big dragons who liked azeroth the way it was pre-titans (with elementals and old gods jointly ruling the surface) fought a war with and lost subsequently to the titan empowered dragonflights. Ever since then, their leaders (the incarnates) have been locked up in some prison or another. A movement worshipping them has started at some point, and one of them (Raszageth) has gotten loose. Crap stirring ensues.

So it’s about the big, bad Protodragon that can shoot lightning and the Primalists who follow him, for reasons.

The proto-dragon is mad at Alexstrasa for locking her up. She was imprisoned because she thought the Titans were stupid and also that the aspects took their powers.

And for that reason, they are now reactivating these stones so that t̵h̵e̵y̵ ̵c̵a̵n̵ ̵r̵e̵t̵c̵o̵n̵ ̵t̵h̵e̵ ̵l̵o̵r̵e̵ ̵o̵f̵ ̵C̵a̵t̵a̵c̵l̵y̵s̵m̵ the aspects can get their powers back that they actually lost in Cataclysm.

Edit: For clarification: the protodragon is only misunderstood.

Well from one quest, I sat by an old red dragon who was in love wit a black dragon, and he tells ya about the day the black dragons were driven mad by da ol gods, and how he had to kill his love, and he wishes hed saved her like dey did ol ebonhorn, it be heartbrakin mon! made me wanna ask a bronze dragon send me back in time ta warn him…

If you look up ‘Dragonflight lore’ on YT there are some vids you might find useful. Haven’t checked them myself though so can’t recommend a concrete one.
