but maybe, just maybe, if you had acknowledged your mistakes and genuinely apologised, i d hate you less and eventually became indifferent to you.
but you saying you have changed and in the same breath wanting to brush it all under the carpet with a new character, pretending nothing has ever happened and rather wanting to create a classic character? just shows how much you have not changed. its the same old Uruk no matter how much you change your character and your name.
its like, you re trying to avoid every possible responsibility of what has happened in the past.
how many times have you joined the discord saying hey, its new me, “i have seen the light”, i have “changed”? two? three times? yet you continue to be the same old person.
at one point people just stop believing you and i cant blame them.
i wish you all the best and this is all im going to say about it but, honestly, stop saying that you have or will change, because history and current behavior is evidence you wont. step up and take responsibility, at least for once, then a classic character wouldnt even be needed.
I have no intention of making a Classic character. I’m done with the forums.
Also, I have changed. It’s been a long time since that drama. But seeing your reply now, why on earth would I had wanted to just come back as Uruk and have you judge me every post I make?
I used to hate you too, you know. I despised you. But like I said, I’ve changed, and almost all of my forum posts since January can attest to that. I hold no grudge against any of you. I just didnt think it wise to return as Uruk, when you’d just have a preconceived notion about me off the bat no matter how nice, friendly and genuine I’d be. So I didn’t want to have to deal with that.
And don’t worry. I guarantee that you’ll never see me again…have fun and enjoy the forums.
I’m sure Ananda can see how easy it is to misunderstand, especially as it wasn’t possible to quote the culprit.
Brigante was a well loved player who mixed with both RPers and non. He passed away earlier this year and many of us attended a memorial on Argent Dawn. It was a somber occasion but a good send off.
Unfortunately someone has taken it upon themselves to create a few alts with the same name and has been posting and liking others posts on the forums.
I’m sorry for the loss of your friend also. It must be a nice tribute to your friend to keep the name.
I actually think I’ve heard of that, though I didn’t know the name. I play on argent dawn with my alliance characters and a couple of IRL friends. Though trade can get spicy there are some really awesome new player friendly groups of folks around.
That’s pretty sickening, and that’s coming from me.
Hiding behind another alt are we now and you know i am a she but you carry on mis-gendering like always i thought you quit a while ago but your typing style gives you away i do miss your paladin posting though but thanks for giving me another to add to ignore
If you’d even bothered to follow the conversation the two of them aren’t even falling out. The posts are even close together. It’s an easy flow to follow.
I think we’ve had quite enough drama in this topic for one day.
I disagree with this statement and think you are mean for having a similar hair colour on your char to a char I used to post with 10 years ago so hurdur at you!!
So can I. Just about the worst thing you can do, for whatever reason, is to use the phrasing “if you think X, then you must be Y”.
So, this is okay for example: Your entire QQ post is incomprehensible drivel and can only have been written due to a total lack of understanding of the game.
This is not okay: If you think this post represents a meaningful problem then you have no understanding of its fundamental aspects of the game.
To me these two are completely interchangable and very rude without a follow-up to really dig into why this is the case - but none of that matters. The only thing that matters is that the last phrasing says “You said X, so you must be Y” instead of “This is plain awful because Y doesn’t understand X.”
It’s very strange.
If you remove or censor a negative interaction you have not actually suppressed the emotion that cause it, and it will simply find a new outlet.
Remove downvotes? People report. Remove reporting? People will spam and harass the person they would’ve downvoted. Remove /spit? People will do /swoon or /golfclap or /fart or even just log on an alt and flame you.
Censorship does not work. You have to make a culture where people are naturally cooperative.
A lot of this abuse simply comes from game systems.
If you make a game that’s fundamentally about grinding a whole bunch of boring stuff over and over again, or which is challenging but PuG’gable, then people are going to find a whole slew of ways to get ahead of the curve, and they’re going to do whatever it takes.
So when you make a boring levelling experience people are going to find the fastest way to do it - and if that fastest way is to spam a particular dungeon with PuG’s but run a very specific manner over and over again then that is what they will do.
We’ve seen this problem over and over again. People queueing for randoms but leaving certain dungeons, or people kicking others who don’t run it correctly - why? Because the game is making them invite random players that are not in on the activity because that is the fastest way for them to do it. Obviously the fastest way should be to find likeminded people.
So why does that happen in this case? Well, it happens because any attempt to carry the player won’t work, and the biggest rewards and the highest power gains come from using the automatic queue system - thus you would be a fool not to invite random people.
It also happens in M+ where the player cannot control what they’ll run and lose their one shot at a good run if some, sometimes even one person, severely messes up. That mess-up is going to cause such frustration that the player who did it gets berated, bullied, or even harassed. People just want an outlet for the frustration, which really isn’t caused by that player, but by the game systems themselves.
World of Warcraft needs to refocus on community, world, location. All these systems that promote forgetting the world and community you’re a part of has to be re-examined or even removed. I’ve long argued for an overhaul to M+ and the complete removal of LFD/LFR, but it doesn’t look like I’ll ever get my wish.
i dont play anymore because the community sux. i used to love it and tbh it doesnt need to suck. a few mmos out there with v good communities (ffxvi, gw2)
