Rest in Peace, Brigante

As some of you already know: Brigante passed away. He was one of the most recognizable forum users and roleplayers on Argent Dawn.
My condolences to his family.
He will be missed.

Update:

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the loss of a longstanding member of this community.

Brigante Summerisle sadly passed away this morning. He was best known for leading the guild Sun Hawks and for having a loud voice in the community before taking some time to look after himself. He is also known for randomly singing IC during battles and being a hilarious presence in social RP and a delight to chat to OOC.

Aside from his love for RP, he is also known for doing voice acting as a career as well as LARPing in his down time. For me personally, he has often provided advice or just words of encouragement and comfort - I’m sure the same can be said for others.

He will be greatly missed and the world feels a little darker without him. I am certain however that he would wish us to keep going with smiles and remember him for the unforgettable person he was, silly side and all - our very own Sun Hawk

Brigante was one of the bright, vibrant personalities on Argent Dawn; many of us in the Silvermoon community - particularly those of us in the military guilds - had served in various campaigns alongside him. He will be greatly missed.

Fly high, fly far, fly free, Brigante Summerisle.

I was fearing the worse when he’d not been seen for a couple of weeks.

Rest in peace Brigante.

Good night Brigante.

Sad to see you go, but I know you had many memories and very few regrets.

He was one of the few people I truly connected with because of our shared interests. I still remember how we talked about the Irish Accents on a specific discord channel.

I knew he took a hit with COVID-19 but apparently he was even in worse condition as we all thought. Perhaps an illness we might not know about.

That’s a shame, I enjoyed his posts - even if they were a bit long.

He had a long term illness which he knew he had about 2 to 3 years but with covid i guess his body couldnt cope. I loved his badger and bee stories going to miss my old man.

The WoW community is a poorer place without you.

He, uh… was not in good respiratory health to start with. He knew time was ticking.

Never encountered anyone so at peace and accepting of it, however. He genuinely didn’t seem angry. From what I could tell, he’d made memories, and he was happy with the way his life had played out, mistakes and all.

“No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away, until the clock wound up winds down, until the wine she made has finished its ferment, until the crop they planted is harvested. The span of someone’s life is only the core of their actual existence.”

A wonderful quote from Terry Pratchett that I feel is greatly appropriate here. Brigante was well known and loved across Argent Dawn. If there is one thing we can do, it is to preserve his memory and ensure the ripples he started continue to spread.

Those who have memories with him, please feel free to post them. We would love to read about the effects he’s had across AD.

I barely got the chance to RP with the guy, but on the few occassions I did, it was always a pleasure. I don’t have nor do I know anyone thats ever had a bad thought about Brigante. Sorely missed. I remember him and Baaen chatting a couple of times, one time was him telling Baaen and the rest of the table a story from his missions, and I do not remember if it was a seperate occassion or same, but he offered to take Baaen along on a fly along with the group, in hindsight I now regret not chasing that up more.

It got to Baaen because he was far from one that anyone would offer such too, and it did touch the cold hearted insert word that Brigante done that…

Damn, this is so sad to read, im out of words… can we try and keep this thread up aslong as we can?

He had various health issues and had recently had an operation. He knew his time was limited, I think, but we’d hoped he would have a little longer. He and I were very close in age, both been part of the London Goth scene (he was one of the CovGoths), and often had wonderful long chats where we mutually reminisced about shared experiences of growing up in the 70s and 80s.

He had, I think, few regrets in life. A keen LARPer, he had a wonderful fund of stories he happily shared.

His story may have come to an end in one very real sense - but it lives on in the memories of all who knew him.
