Is there any use in the non-shapeshift form for druids?

Wondering on whether I would like to play a druid. I’ve played a bit, but never to max level. What bothered me is the constant use of shapeshift form - is there any use of the non-shapeshift form or should you always be in shapeshift form in battle?

Resto druid.

Feral: Cat form
Guardian: Bear form
Balanced: Boomkin
Restoration: No form OR tree form (glyph)

The class’s different specs have skills that requires you to be in the correct “stance” (form).
(also these Forms give you usefull statts)

Is Resto the healer one? I’ve literally never even tried a healer class in WoW so dunno if I’d be up for that

Restoration is indeed the healer, you restore your allied forces health points.

Ok that was kinda cringe, I agree.

Try it out, maybe you’ll like it.
Restro dudu is probally the most noob-friendly healer out there

… What?

No, definitely not. You need to know when damage is going to happen to be able to heal efficiently as a resto druid or you’re going to be stuck in a game of catching up all the time.

You dont realy shapeshift that often .

Each spec has their main form, resto got none they are a regular caster form . And then u shift based on whats going on.

U play bear, u shift into cat for more dps time to time ( or owl) or when u need more move speed . U are no form when u need to heal.

U play cat and there is going to be a big dmg on you, then u go to bear .

Etc etc , but its not like u swap form 20 times per minute

You can be Balance and buy a glyph to stay with your normal form.

Oh that’s interesting, is it expensive

You can use the glyph to keep your form (humanoid form) if you play a boomie.

Probably not, but you will appear transparent/blue, so your transmog will not be very noticeable.

Yes, but you get stars all round you - I love my druid’s glyph of stars, she looks magical (and much better than a fat chicken). Her transmog is a lot more noticeable than my shadow priest’s.
The only time I change out of balance is when moving around in travel/flying form.

I tested the glyph of stars. It’s cool enough. Never played a shadow priest so it reminded me of one - also thought of potentially making a night elf priest, but idk, it feels a bit wrong(ish) to be a male night elf priest?

Are there other cool glyphs worth trying out?

Why would nelf male priest feel wrong?

You can check out glyphs on YT before spending gold on them.

resto druid was the first healer i actually healed with in wow…

before the changes they made which made it more priestly imo…

i think it is a better one to learn on…

bu ti would argue in current wow resto shaman is probably the best for a beginner.

Aren’t they mainly female? I know the roles changed a bit, but I don’t know the current state

I’m sorry but are you saying there’s something wrong with the boomkin form being plus-sized? Aren’t you an overweight person yourself? I hope it’s just for your transmog and not internalized fatphobia

You’re right lore-wise, but I’ve noticed players going for this combo.

This is a good reasoning I found on reddit.

“Night Elves, especially prior to the events of World of Warcraft, are a heavily matriarchal gendered society.

AFAIK, without exception, males were placed in the roles of druids as the societies ecological stewards. Females were placed in the roles of priests, warriors, and governmental leaders. While the men (druids) slept in the emerald dream and tended to the wilds, the women protected the realm as warriors, ran the government as leaders, and guided their spiritual beleifs in Elune as preistesses. Essentially, the women were responsible for keeping their entire society afloat while much fo their male population slept.

It was not until shortly after the events of Warcraft 3, and the losing of their immortality, that Night Elf culture began to loosen their gender roles.

The “out of game” reason for this change was so Blizzard could have all Night Elf classes be playable as both genders. Blizzard made it a key point to NOT gender their character classes, which is a common trope among Asian style RPGs. The “in game reason” was that the loss of the Night Elves immorality was a massive shock to their culture and caused them to reevaluate their society and take on a more pragmatic veiw of their roles. They needed everyone doing a bit of everything in their attempts to recover from their loss.”

Basically if you wanted to RP it, the male priest would be probably less experienced and newer to priesthood.

Besides in Torghast there’s no need to shapeshift often.

I was about to mention the glyph for moonkin form but sounds like you have that sorted…I love it myself as I like the blue shade

Shapeshifting is what got me into druids in the first place…I love the mobility and there are so many quests you can do quickly in fly form as you don’t even need to swap out…
