My friend with EA says there is just too much quests in TWW (especially side quests) compared to DF. Do you also feel this way?
No such thing as too many quests.
Why would there be too many quests? Questing is an optional thing (beyond doing the story once, and that’s short). People can either choose to do all the quests or not, and for people who enjoy them, having a lot of quests is a great thing.
People are really complaining about too much content now?
You dont have to do them all in one go. There are now even map markers for quests you have not done.
Games have made so many people obsessional completionists. If you dont enjoy playing in that way, why do it Leave some for later. The quests will not disappear. They will be there for 1.5 years or so.
There’s never too many. The map only shows main story and local story quests. It doesn’t show all the quests. There’s more.
actually I feel a little mad that I have to skip 15 questlines per zone xDDDDD
I hate when people make threads and dont respond in them. Come on OP defend your claim
I did most of the first zone and then the campaign to get my first character to 80. Thanks to the account wide approach I’m going to take my alts through the different zones for a bit of variety. You can only earn the renown once.
Definitely feels like it compared to other expansions, although they did only have the side quests start appearing on the map in DF, iirc? There are a ton of quests there regardless. I’m waiting til DMF comes around so I can benefit from the rep buff and then complete them all.
Why is that even a problem ?
Since you mentioned it, this was something I was meaning to ask about. I assume this means there’s no benefit to doing the campaign on multiple characters either (in renown terms).
Look at all of those side quests, the ones that you have a whole expansion to do…
This is a non issue, the campaign is shorter but they’ve made more side quests for those who enjoy the questing aspect of the game.
Nope, I believe if you get an alt to 80 you can do a skip for the levelling campaign in Dornegal.
Renown is also a once per account thing which makes sense, even world quests in TWW zones specifically state this on them when you hover over them on the map. I think they purposely didn’t do this to the DF zones on prepatch to help people get their renown up there.
Indeed, so basically I did the campaign on Punyelf, primarily to get steady flight unlocked and left all the side quests for alts, apart from first zone. I have had to do the campaign on my alt but it gives no renown. So far my alt is level 77 I think after doing every quest it can in Hallowfall.

It feels about the same amount or slightly higher.
And honestly, it feels great. Enough XP to level. A lot of lore.
Are people afraid of over-delivery or what?
Well, kind of true… But then again, who am I to blame Blizzard for adding more and more quests? The content will be consumed more slowly and we will get to explore Khaz Algar and its lore more thoroughly. I’m actually glad about this change; haven’t dived deep into all the side-quests, however it could give you an edge to hit maximum renown on all 4 factions in contrast to Dragonflight, don’t you think? Even renown grinding seemed a bit more comfortable. And with the quests and content available to do—I think that’ll make people happier.
The outrageous thing is side quests are really fricking good, I was literally immersed in cautionary tales of kobold grandma, and felt for the dude that endured getting his entire team killed by parisitic swarms (this effect when you swarm your screen is disgusting in a good way) and now I think about what other good stuff I skipped while seeing million of unfinished quests on my journal
Imagine that, complaining about questing in an RPG…
Better way too many than too little.
You barely have to do anything else (delve, side quests, dungeon) but the main quests to get to 80. Which is good, so either take it all in or rush, the choice is yours. You’ll have a decent amount of things left to do at 80.
Its an MMORPG. If there werent Quests you would have a dead world. Simple is that. If you play WoW for rushing through the main Quest Line and push endgame, why even play an MMORPG then?! What is the world for then?
On a side note: Those Quests are mostly optional anyway so how could anyone complain about that in the first place?
