I suppose this is my first and last post that I put on the forum.
I’ve been actively playing WoW since Pandaria on the Blizzard servers. In that time there have been at most weeks where I haven’t played or been in-game. But what is happening now is not only for me to think about whether it is still worth playing WoW officially and spending my money.
I’m very disappointed in what’s happening. How much the game is falling off has been known for quite some time now.
However, this really hasn’t gone well. It all started literally in fast-track when Blizzard threw us a pre-patch where there wasn’t a single thing that worked. Are they really going to release a prepatch that is worse than the Beta? Do I really have to write that many macros to even play, or just to leave the dungeon?
Where are the days when Blizzard would push a game back a month just to make everything perfect.
To get back on topic. After a completely botched and shabby prepatch that took two and a half weeks, we the players got basically nothing. Compared to the original version, where there was a twilight and elemental event, ActiBlizz has now given us completely excellent entertainment in the form of a broken Archaeology, which burns the emotions in me even more.
In our guild of 100 people, we have players with 1000 solves who don’t have a single rare item. There are roughly two shields, one sword, and one staff for the entire guild. And seeing that, even though it’s the only thing to do now, it’s probably the worst prepatch ever.
Reading the forums, I don’t blame players for wanting bad luck protection on the one thing Blizzard has given generously to the people who make it possible for it to exist. And even then, they don’t care.
I don’t know about you guys, and I really hope someone from Blizzard reads this, but half the people in our guild want to quit WoW. And that’s because this is a perfect demonstration of where it’s all going.
I implore ActiBlizz to finally start listening to the players and listening to them. If they’re going to cheat them out of fun like this, at least help them out a little, even if it’s just bad luck protection.
If you’re going to speed up the whole game like this, which isn’t built for this, at least adjust the other conditions.
Our player base is aging. We have an average age of 35 in the guild. I think the age of the players is somewhere around here. We have families, we have careers, we have responsibilities. Things were different in 2010 and everyone could afford the time that’s going on but not today.
You still have time to change certain things. Please don’t miss it. And at the very least, I’d start with the only prepatch entertainment we’ve been given - Archaeology.
