is this a mature game anymore?

The brewfest event came up with some cool looking kilts and as kilts, they used to show skin texture underneath, kinda making it look you were wearing it commando, as intended. Then the one person at blizzard that HATES fun, woke up and changed it. Now it shows underwear. i know is not a great deal to most people, but this a bit of freedon that was taken away. you can behead people, do experiments on them but cant wear a commando kilt? is not like it showed anything graphic but it still made it feel like this was still a mature game. guess i was wrong. Blizz… please reverse it and give us… me… the commando kilts back. if you dont like to see anything… dont look. Please and thank you!

WoW was never advertised as Mature. It was always 13+. But it is true that it has been severely disneyfied over the years.

you are right about the T (13+) rating… but if you can show death and torture, you should be able to show non graphic stuff like the “commando kilt”… right?

The thing is, these categories are most likely prescribed by law and Blizzard is obligated to exclude certain types of content if they want to mark the game as 13+.

I agree with you that it’s dumb, especially considering that average player age in wow is like 30yo, but I think it’s not only on Blizzard here.

The other irony is that light gore can be depicted (mutilated bodies hanging from the ceiling for example), but we can’t have characters using “vulgar” language.

Lots of countries (Like the US) are way more uptight about sex/nudity than violence, it’s a weird double standard, but it’s how things are.

that is true… but again… there was nothing graphic. i think having someone’s head in your bag for a quest is much worse.

Blizzard is very woke atm, it’s bought by microsoft, which is based in the USA, so in the near future it’ll probably be less woke.

Indeed, it has already been announced that Turalyon is going to feature in the new expansion with an updated and spray-tanned appearance, stating he is going to make the Sunwell great again.

Nudity being “problematic” even in the most violent games/movies has been a thing in Murrica for decades…

if “Murrica” cant handle a little “hinted” nudity… do it like with the chinesse server censorship… hide the nudity for the us server… but let us in the EU enjoy … freeeeedom!

Not in Murica.
Showing violence to a child is fine there, but the slightest bit of skin, even in a non-sexualized way, is completely and utterly demonized there. :dracthyr_shrug:

When was it ever a mature game? A lot of us started 20 years ago in our teens. Some are mentally still there.
