As someone previously said it, the lack of content and overall tension: no wonder, they decided to release yet completely imbalanced activity only to keep players trying hard and slamming heads against the wall.
In opposite, if mt was pretty easy, people would just get their finy mounts and unsub till 9.2. as simple as that. Awaited mt nerfs won’t happen, what a nice christmas gift, after all. I can only guess, it was the worst time to release MT this year.
A lot? Or you and some of your friends?
Sure, but WoW isn’t that kind of game. WoW has never been that kind of game and hopefully WoW will never be that kind of game. WoW is a casual friendly game. There is content aimed at die-hards, but it’s not the bread-and-butter of the game.
It makes the MT able to be enjoyed by many more players.
And I think that in your statement ‘a ton of players’ is hyperbole.
Yeah, not for me. But for the general playerbase. Because putting content into the game during the worst content drought WoW has ever suffered and making that content only aimed towards a niche, small sub-set of the playerbase is wrong (and just a dumb decision, honestly).
That’s why. This content should be enjoyable for everyone. Which means they should have included a choice of difficulty. Then everybody would’ve been happy. Since they didn’t do that and probably won’t do that, I choose to support the 2nd best option: Making a majority of players happy. Which means a nerf is needed.
I get that. But players like you are a minority in WoW.
And in this case I think it’s better to serve the vast majority of players.
All the complaining is proof of this.
You can’t really convince me the dev team right now is not malicious considering all the removal of things / replacement of things and pushing of things they have going on.
They are completely tonedeaf to the overall needs/wants of people.
We just want a game to have fun and relax in…
Nothing else…
No plaques or shouting…
No whips…
No praising of poop…
Interesting characters, new characters, cool lore, funny activities.
You know; Adventure.
It feels like its all just in a death spiral right now, eating its own tail.
The only one half-way close to its original execution from my experience was the Frost Mage one - except that you have to kill Raest first (you could finish the encounter by killing Karam first in Legion just as well).
I would have tried to get the 36/36 achievement and probably even replay the Mage Tower on some more characters if if would be easier. I did 103 successful encounters in Legion, most of them in the last couple of months where gearing up was easier (but on my main much earlier). I was hoping that they would tune the difficulty accordingly, but the encounters are even harder than at the beginning of the Mage Tower implementation.
same here, I got fdk appearance back then, now modern mt is a complete joke. needless to say, I gave it up after 50 tries or so
Completed both the DH challenges in Legion, this time around… seems its waaaay over tuned. I havent really had to much much bother up until now… I’m interupting and spells are killing me while silenced… The RNG due to the rediculous overtunning is making for a horrible time.
Well i finished the mage tower challenge on my guardian druid, i did it on 17-12 , but i cant change my bear form into the new form… made several tickets but no response and i cant be arsed to go in there again
Gotta love all these paranoid conspiracy people. Are you interested into buying a tinfoil hat? I’ve got some on sale.
well it’s going on 3 days now without any hotfixes so I can assume MT is going to be in this broken state until it’s closed off.
This is a pathetic reaction to valid responses of the experience being overtuned whereas the sweaties and alt classic andies are muddying the waters to confuse the whole situation.
It’s been weekend, they don’t really do hotfixes during weekends and hotfixes usually come in during nights in European time zones.
People wanted the magetower apperances for free, they dont want to work for it
There’s a difference between working for something and it being too much effort for the reward offered. I’m not touching the holy priest challenge until they bring the mages back to Legion levels of damage against the allies.
Not really
But its easier to say ‘‘nerf dis, i want rewards’’ than spending time improving at the game
May be true for some, but from what I see in US and EU forums, overall, it’s overtunned when compared to PTR, and Legion. While it’s understandable the experience would not be the same, this scaling and difficulty is plainly idiotic for the reward that’s offered. Most people don’t want it for free, they want the challenge, but also, not this challenge. Most people don’t have the time to grind old sockected gear, plus op trinkets, plus how many tries to do this, as it was not what was advertised by Blizz. This is not a GitGud matter. One example that comes to mind is, for instance, the Havoc DH challenge. It took Dratnos, a full mythic raider in full mythic gear, a guy who, by all means, rarely screws the rotation, has quick reflexes, bla bla bla bla bla bla bla, 3h to complete this. How long would it take for an average Joe to do it? Off course that are people in SL gear that are doing it, as well as people with cheese gear doing it, then there’s the in between, where most of the player base lives… This challenges should not be tunned in a way that only a few people get to do it, as again, it was not what was advertised (something in the lines of with a little effort and time, everyone will be able to do it, and that’s not the case, at all). Why would they test something on the PTR, then on live scale it up to double/triple health in some cases? Why are adds hitting more then what they “should”? It doesn’t make sense. But hey, I will keep trying as I’m 3/7 and I really would like to have Fel bear, Warlock set and the mount, but let’s see
i dont know anyone who asked for it to be so difficult !!! i completed all challenges back in legion some at start some at the end + i always see the same peaple say we asked for it on the forums … 2 players is not everyone
Not wanting to deal with overtuned mobs that blow your allies to pieces compared to in legion doesn’t mean you need to improve at the game.
I think you have interpretation issues. Either that or something else, but, each to their own. If you stop and think about what you’ve written, does it make sense? If by what you said, people asked for MT, and they didn’t mind it would be a challenge, and they released MT, is it the same challenge as it was back then? Or is it, by general consensus on the forums, much harder than what it was? You can’t have double standards (or you shouldn’t have at least) There’s clearly a scaling, tuning, call it whatever you want, issue with MT. And it’s not because some (very few by the looks of it) can do it, that the rest should. The top percentile should not be the standard when defining what is challenging or not, neither should the bottom percentile for that matter. There’s a place called “in between”. Or you can have system like in raids, when you have, lfr, normal, heroic and mythic. Same with PvP with the ladders. You have those challenges and you don’t see people complaining for not getting the same rewards as the people who engage in that type of content do. It’s all about what was advertised in this case, and because clearly, this is overtunned
