According to ironforge.pro this server is totally dead now. I do know that ironforge.pro only checks raiders so was curious if anyone still plays here for dungeons and levelling? I like playing on RP servers, and it’s sad to see that on Europe there isn’t a populated RP realm at all…NA has Grobbulus which is still going strong but I have zero interest in paying a second subscription just to access a populated RP realm.
It is dead, sadly.
Logged on my new hordie today (5pm), 4 people in Durotar (including me), 0 in Orgrimmar.
Aliance: 2 people in SW (including me), 0 in Ironforge, 2 in Shatrath.
Needless to say, I doubt there’ll be much success trying to find people for instances or elite quests on HW.
Hey Ellori, unfortunately Blizzards neglect of the EU servers made a lot of people transfer off to larger servers when the population crisis that affected all servers began. Even Zandalar Tribe our sister server that had a healthy 4k population died as soon as the transfers opened. Generally speaking most people have either gone back to retail temporarily, Epsilon WoW or Turtle WoW while they wait to see what’s going to happen with WOTLK classic. Hopefully Blizzard will have at least one RP server that will be available but for now it seems like RP here is on hiatus.
Personally I think as many of us need to come together as we can, petty differences or not to try to reach out to the Classic team otherwise we might not have one. Splitting up the community on two different RP servers to begin with was ridiculous. I’m not sure how many people even check the forums but Hydraxian regulars and old ZT regulars might want to start connecting because we’re going to need to work together if we even want to see an RP realm.
That’s unfortunate to hear. I’m personally not interested in private servers, and I do play retail as well as Classic already.
I suppose the options I have are to just pick one of the PvE realms (as I imagine the Hydraxian population all ended up moving to Pyrewood or one of the PvE realms), or just stick it out on Hydraxian or Zandalar and hope the population improves when WotLK comes out. I don’t have any hopes for that happening though, and the population will just dip back down after the launch hype wears off.
There would need to be some sort of dedicated reroll or resurgence project for Hydraxian or Zandalar for there to ever be any hope of the realm coming back I think, but it would need to be very successful with a lot of time and effort put into building it, assuming there’s even enough people interested in a populated EU RP realm at all in the first place to build that.
I understand how you feel I’m quite disappointed at the state of things myself, infact it’s very annoying to think the opportunity has been squandered so much whether that be through drama, general infighting, or apathy, it’s unfortunate but the community has kind of imploded or moved on. The only real suggestion I would make is try PVE server for now if you want to experience the actual content, otherwise take a break and maybe come back in Wrath.
Hopefully the devs won’t be tone deaf enough to simply not bother adding RP servers, here’s hoping they have at least one available for everyone to transfer too. If I could reach more former Classic roleplayers I would have asked them all to make a petition on the forums just before the launch of the new servers but I doubt that’s possible now since they’ve all seem to have given up. I can’t say I really blame them since private servers honestly offer a better platform for roleplay. (and for free)
I know it might not be the most helpful suggestion but the only other place I might recommend is FFXIV but I personally don’t play on FFXIV EU servers so I can’t vouch for them. If you have a good internet speed and are a night owl Balmung is a pretty fun place for roleplay.
I came back to the game today after dropping it towards the end of last year and was kinda shocked at just how dead it was. I knew there was a mass exodus during the whole free server transfer chaos but I really didn’t expect it to be quite this bad.
Hoping things pick up even just a little bit as we get closer to WotLK… I have 0 desire to transfer away.
It has some people left, but seems on the low side. I saw a full 50 who list on Saturday and Sunday at least, so there’s still at least some people there. Enough to form raids maybe…there needs to be some sort of reroll project on Hydraxian or something, but that’s a huge undertaking and I’m unsure how popular it would actually be…it seems most RPers just went back to Argent Dawn on retail.
Yeah there tends to be a decent amount of players online from what I’ve noticed (though now I think about it… calling 50-100 decent is a bit yikes), and I saw there was even a Kara run going on a couple of days ago.
I think there’s definitely hope for the server, but it’s 100% riding on a big resurgence happening for WotLK.
I really miss HW. It was such a nice little community. I don’t care for the realm I’m on now. It’s so busy and full of boosters. The only time i log on is to raid and that’s it. I did make a Rogue on HW and have been leveling her up. I hope the realm does pick up. Would be so nice to see the realm more active again.
I’d love to transfer back but… being Horde was hard even at Hydraxian’s peek and I sure as hell ain’t paying. I can’t help but wonder if a resurgence does happen then Zandalar Tribe and Hydraxian will just cannibalise each other.
