Is undercutting a bannable offense?

not a joke at all. you assume that everyone who joins a group wants or needs to stay whatever happens, which simply is just silly to assume.

if 4 dont mind not timing it and one wants to time it, then sticking around is just a waste of time, so that person is entitled to leave. you cant force someone to do something they do not want to do in a video game.

everyone needs to be on the same page. everyone needs to be okey with finishing the dungeon although you might not time it or abandon it because you need it timed. thats pretty much the only fair way.

however, barely anyone bothers to ask what peoples expectations are before they start a run and then have to deal with the consequences if it doesnt pan out.

furthermore, you do not control people and neither should you. thats asinine. m+ is player driven, thus, players also need to make sure they pick the right people for their runs and communicate with them.

i pug a lot and to be honest, the ā€œleaver issueā€ is blown way out of proportion if you do everything right its basically a non-issue.

i play/have played plenty of other games and its been never an issue, but thanks for your concern.

Some people simply want the gold and do not care about making that much of a profit or perhaps they want to just rid themselves of the items. Why punish them?

play ff if you can’t stant to be excluded from the game. If you want to run competetive content be good or else I will leave because you will waste my time.

solution to this would be queue your own group and write ā€œI’m a bad player be niceā€

Undercutting does make sense. If there are 10000 pieces of Desolate Leather listed for like 2.5G a piece, and you list a few for 2.4G, some people will immediately buy because it feels like a bargain when only a few are listed on a lower price.

Well i used to think the same way but watching Gold makers on Twitch their answer is always the same ?

" So , just buy it and repost at what it should be and make a profit of it GG , you’re the winner"

for the AH comments, a lot of people myself included just want to sell an item immediately and if it gives 1g-5gk (high priced items only) less than others, that’s fine, long as it turns more of a profit from the ah selling than not.

Rather have a continuous income stream even if its lower than wait around and play the AH market. Besides which, some of us have little interest in mucking around with AH aside from bag clearance every so often.

It’s a war crime.

Massive undercutting is for players who value their time more than extra gold.

For example, if I have an item which can sell for 5 000 gold but is bought once every 5 or 6 hours, I have two possible strategies

  • first strategy, undercut by 1 silver, check every couple of minutes to see if someone undercut me by 1 silver (relist in that case), and earn 5 000 gold after a couple of hours

  • second strategy, list at 3 000 and not bother about it again for 1 day, and return to find my 3000 gold (either from a buyer or from another seller who bought and relisted around 5000)

In that case, the question is : do I value getting 2000 gold more than constantly monitoring my sales ? and sometimes it is simply am I able to monitor the auction in the next day.

And remember that if you don’t manage to sell at a given moment, the item that is worth 5000 today might be worthless after tthis.

As for the initial question : if the situation is that someone that you undercut threatened you of getting you banned if you keep doing it, that threat is totally void of anything.

There is nothing wrong with undercutting, i don’t have time to repost my gathered mats for 1 silver less 18 times over the course of 2 days for it to sell because some goblin likes to play the AH, i just throw it in 25% below the cheapest one, if that same goblin wants to buy my dirt cheap mats to normalise the prices then all is well, i get my gold, their market doesn’t crash, win win in my book.

Why would it be bannable? It’s part of the game

lol no

unfortunately, theres no tech which kinda tells you whether some has computer problems… wish there was, i had a ton of problems when i first got my pc and having a tech outlining whether you left on purpose or through tech faults would differ the punishments
