Hey Tole,

My view on it is that, while it is not a necessity, it is always good to have around.

I would argue that it is important if you are doing some kind of progression content, Mythic raiding, high Mythic+ dungeons, Arena, Rated BGs.

That is just my personal view on this though, so mileage may vary on this, and it also depends a great deal on how your raid leader and the other members of your team view the usage of voice chat.

Raidfinder? No, just go and faceroll on your keyboard. :slight_smile:

If you are looking to join higher lvl raiding, I do recommend finding a casual raiding guild. How ever as a guildmaster and one of our raidteam healers, I do expect all my raiders to join our discord during raid, to atleast listen the tactics.

I would say no, just know tactics pretty much, I found some mythic dungeons have surprising tactics, never ever been in a voicechat actually, but thats mostly cause I’m socially anxious.

No, voice chat is nowhere near required until you get to some fairly serious level of play that is above what most people do. Of course, if you are raiding with a guild regularly, that guild may have its own standards, but generally I would say:

Raids:
LFR (Raid Finder): NO! Not needed.
Normal: No, unless you are in a guild that expects it.
Heroic: Maybe. In pick up groups, some leaders will want it, but generally you just need to be able to listen to instructions, so if you have sound you’ll be ok.
Mythic Progression: Yeah, for sure, but only a couple of percent of people ever do it.

For dungeons:
Normal: NO!
Heroic: NO!
Mythic (Mythic-Zero): NO
Mythic-Plus: It gets more likely as you go up the levels. When you’re doing +10s regularly, you will come to rely on it, and above +10, yes, any high-key pushing group will expect it. But most people don’t do +10s regularly, much less high keys.
