It’s almost like Blizzard just has a catalogue of ten or so stories that they just tell time and time again with different coats of paint.
It’s not like Mists of Pandaria this time bros i swear, the warchief was corrupt all along i swear! Corrupted by…
Rolls dice.
A big guy.

In the Shadowlands
I am not entirely clear on the how and when timeline-wise, but it was Alleria specifically that caused this before she recruited the Void Elves.
When the Void Elves were exiled(without them ever coming close to what Alleria almost accidently did to the Sunwell) is still up in the air, all we know it was after the Sunwell was restored, eitherway.
Also yes, Rommath knew the Void to be dangerous to the Light-infused Sunwell, but they were not Void Elves before their exile, they only ever researched Dar’khan Drathir’s research (or whatever his name was ) in the same manner that their Shadow-Priests researched Shadow or their Warlocks used and researched Fel-magic
Man, Garrosh may have been a terrible Warchief and individual but the world had to change with him around which I think is why despite the dichotomy surrounding him there’s this lingering positive light. Vol’jin did nothing, not even moving the seat of the Warchief from valley of strength to that of spirit to reflect his focus. Sylvanas is a strange bag I’m not fully equipped to tackle.
I agree that it´s dumb, but I think way dumber story writing would be to allow Silver Covenant in after Purge of Dalaran (and portraying Aethas as the one that is going to apologize to Jaina) but I think we all know who is going to be the main high elf faction for Midnight.
The next expansion is going to be a ride and I´m here for it.
I have zero faith in the overall story for midnight. I’m here for the HD assets, new transmog sets and upscaled QT.
Well it’s the same nuance with the Titans - they’re only seen as ‘good’ because they are juxtaposed to the Void and the Old Gods which appear more inherently evil.
Whereas actually if the Titans weren’t locked in this struggle and able to carry out their agenda to its fullest logical end point, they would slip into evil territory quite quickly.
Remember this quote from Algalon the Observer: “ I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers’ flames. Their denizens fading without so much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and razed in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart, devoid of emotion… of empathy.”
These are not the words ‘good, nice titans’. This is an example of how evil the titans can be, and this quote is what, 15 years old?
People shocked that the Titans are capable of evil have just not been paying attention.
I hope we lose Sunwell.
Loss of Teldrassil and subsequent “elf angry, elf smash” stuff in 8.1 was the best night elves have been for years before and after, I want some of that. Go full crazy against the Void, or get corrupted by it from desperation to replace the magic addiction with something else, doesn´t matter, as long as there is pain and suffering.
I need it.
While I expect the blood elves to play a role in Midnight as it is set in Quel’thalas, I can’t help but feel as though they’re going to be a backdrop race, like the centaur or tuskarr in Dragonflight. The way Metzen spoke, he made it sound like he wanted to focus on the entirety of “the elven tribes,” and the blood elves are only one of many.
To make matters worse, blood elves don’t really have many characters with mass market appeal. Lor’themar is cool but he’s a little dry, he’s likely going to end up dead or as a designated world quest voice-over NPC. Liadrin might get a chance to shine, but so far she’s been rather one-note whenever she’s appeared.
I think it’s more likely that Midnight will focus on the Windrunner sisters (yes, even Sylvanas, she’ll be coming back) first and foremost as the “main characters,” though I don’t have anything to support that. It’s just a feeling.
I’m also looking forward to it, mostly to the reasons Aerilen names. HD assets, reworked QT/SMC (little cautious about it tho) but in the end it will hopefully result in more RP
And Illidan will be coming back aswell, alongside the Titan Pantheon!
Most sane blood elf player.
Clarification: As of the Love is in the Air festival it seems that they forgot that Gazlowe even became a Trade Prince, which honestly tracks seen as they had to change Exploring Kalimdor because they accidentally wrote Gallywix as Trade Prince.
A more than welcome development because he makes for a lousy bilgewater, but could you elaborate how exactly they forgot?
There’s a note from Gazlowe

Which reads distinctly out of character for him, and far more in-character as Gallywix.
They really can’t decide if gazlowe is the new gallywix or a hyper benevolent magnanimous charitable boss huh
If only they had a lore team to double check their stuff…
I still maintain they should’ve had a new Bilgewater Goblin take over after Gallywix left. My vote’d be on either Meggs Dreadshredder or Boss Mida, but I guess it was more convenient to put Gazlowe in, even if it doesnt make sense.
Also wondering if Gallywix’s gonna stay camping in Tazavesh.
He’d better do. We don’t want him back to tell stories on soul-trading, otherwise he’ll sell his next bunch out there as living batteries.
I mean, he already was willing to sell his people to slavery after taking all their savings. There’s not that much of a difference, frighteningly so.
