Is WoW retail worth playing in 2019? (Returning player)

Hi.
I quit wow quite a while ago. Ive never been a hardcore end game raider or anything. I just like collecting pets, mounts, transmog…etc.
Ive been humming and harring about maybe coming back, leveling a worgen or something (i like their new models) and trying to farm the Bee Mount. Among other things, of course.

I just wanted to know what the state of the game is like atm. All i keep hearing are negative things, which is making me a little dubious.

Any help?
Thanks!

There’s negative things spoken about all MMOs. Gaming communities ALWAYS complain.
Personally I think retail is doing fine. I’m still playing it daily and having a blast. If you’re a casual player who just likes collecting stuff and enjoying the ride, then retail will be totally fine.
I’m an altaholic, so these days I’m hitting 120 and then starting over until I’ve experienced every path available, then I’ll probably settle on a main.

If you like solo playing, and you are creative man (like myself) then BFA is defo for you, i didn’t sit in any capital city for more than 5 minutes recently unless i was away from computer. There is always something to do, weekly raid trip is my fav for solo playing. Leveling pets with “pet week” is also cool. Basicaly you can farm 7 expansions and vanilla content for good ^^
