So for example if I want Squawks, does it ONLY drop when it’s a pirate-themed island or it has a pirate invasion?
Or does it simply increase the chance, and I can still theoretically get Squawks on a random, non-pirate-themed island?
(I still think you should be able to buy them with dubloons, this is some of the most insane RNG in the game.)
From what i know it drops only when pirates are present theme or invasion.

So far i only have the yeti and jellyfish one but from what has been said some mounts drop on certain weeks with certain mobs like as you said squawks.

I still believe it’s the most off puting rng farm ever. I mean i have farmed 1% mounts but this is nothing like them it’s also boring and i got 1 mount since the start of bfa so yeah not gonna bother with it .
Yeah I read on wowhead that it takes hundreds of tries under the right circumstances to get them. This is definitely one of the worst RNG stuff in the game, especially since island expeditions are repetitive, generally unrewarding (after completing the weekly quest) and not very good to begin with.
Every item mog/pet/mount should be imho buyable from vendor screw them dropping just let us farm and buy.
Yeah, actually, even if I have to do like, let’s say 200 expeditions, that’d feel much better.

Same i would be happy to do another 2k island if i knew at end of it i could buy what i wanted and it feels like they have nerfed the dubs again recently.
how do people keep their patience when farming islands mounts, its rng chance to get a rng chance . i stopped doing islands entirely months ago
Especially the Island Expeditions ones because of how boring they are. But yeah, if they all used a system like the albatross, that would be cool. At least you know you’ll eventually get it, and you can see your progress. Not knowing if it’ll ever drop is NOT my idea of fun.
I love the mounts being a collector but the mog sets on AH are extreme prices i swear each player thinks all
other players are multi millionaires. 100k for each part of a set .
So yes put them on vendor make them BoA and remove the BoE and let us farm .
I got green parrot and black/twiliight drake. Not sure about circumstances, but mounts do indeed drop.
I have almost 700 tries with all my chars from the start of BFA and still NONE of the mounts have dropped. At this stage of game we should have all of nine mounts that can drop but devs refuse to increase the drop chance which is so ridiculous plus the weekly quest should have a high chance to give you missions that can drop mounts. I really hope they increase the drop chance so we manage to get these mounts before the end of the expansion.
Would be nice, but is there any precedent where they increased the drop chance of any mount ever?
As far as I know, people still farm the MoP world bosses for them every week with multiple characters because of the incredibly low chance.

its been a year and most people have so few of the collectibles available from islands.
this means that its likely that for the second year of BfA we wont get many more of the collectibles.
SO, what happens in 9.0+? try getting 3 people together to do islands then? on friday night at 7pm there were only FIVE mythic island groups up. that is a joke! how on earth are we meant to EVER collect the pets/mounts/transmog from islands?
