Isle of Conquest needs a fix

Isle of Conquest needs a fix, It is not secret that the best stragety for Alliance is get the docks and reposition glaives out of reach for horde keeps defences. This has been the case for years!
I cannot believe this is not fixed at all, give the defences better reach or lower the glaives range. Docks are so much more accessible for alliance than for horde, so even the match for docks is pretty much Alliance always.

Sure about that?

So it is even worst if hangar is that strong, alliance are definitely faster to get to hangar and moreover they have the high ground once there and a small area to target thanks to the width of the Horde path

I must say I like the current meta on Isle of Conquest a lot.
Both hangar and docks are equally viable and vehicles have just the right amount of health so that they can withstand a few hits and don’t fall over from a strong gust of wind, but continued pressure will destroy them quickly.

Hangar is the “slow and steady wins the race” approach, glaives are significantly faster but riskier. If the opponents know how to target them, you end up with no way to damage the gate.

This season, because so many strategies are viable, every game turns out differently. Both teams commit a different number of players to each base, which results in different outcomes of the first fight and the match. It’s much better than the hangar or bust that we’ve had throughout seasons 3 and 4 of Dragonflight.

The whole point of glaives is to be a long range siege vehicle that does high damage outside of turret range. The keep cannons are not the only way to destroy the glaives. Use a goblin glider from your keep and go kamikaze on the glaives. Pop both offensive and defensive cds and do as much damage on the glaives as you can before you are taken out, repeat until the glaives are dead. Use the chat to alert your teammates to take out the glaives. Glaives are the #1 priority to take out whenever they are up.

Here is a summary of the two viable strategies:

If your team controls hangar and the opponents control docks:

  1. Kill glaives ASAP, call for reinforcements to assist you until the job is done. Do this every 3 minutes upon respawn of fresh glaives. Make sure to go directly for the glaives and pump 100% of your damage into them, ignore enemy infantry trying to stop you, use defensive CDs to survive and mobility to connect only to the glaives.

Avoid capping docks. The opponents get a fresh set of glaives upon recap.

  1. Defend hangar and call incs. Holding hangar is the key to do consistent damage to the enemy gate.

Optional tasks:
refinery and quarry
laying bombs inside the enemy keep

Do these only AFTER you have completed the essential tasks and have players to spare, essential tasks are much higher on the priority list.

You control docks and the opponent controls hangar:

  1. Protect the glaives at all costs with the help of the entire team, literally nothing else. Kill everything that comes close. The siege engine and demolishers from workshop are perfect for this task.

this being said:

No, it’s better than it has been in years and it’s easy to win if you know what you’re doing. I hope they tune future seasons properly so that every season’s isle will be like this season’s.

IOC is fine. What’s not fine is Horde turtling in AV because some genius made a tiny entrance into Frostwolf Keep.

Isn’t the alliance bridges the same?

Not really. It’s easy to push through it since you can knock people off it and it’s actually wide.

You don’t stay on the bridge while turtling on Ally side, cause all you need to do is push to GY dead-end, farm Horde at GY and it’s gg if no one cap the GY.
I remember some “pro player” of turtling strats saying that Ally side is better for turtling on AV

Ally either go WS or Hangar. We never go Docks at the start.
