Isn’t it time to allow non-BM hunters to tame exotic beasts?

They can keep spirit beasts as an exclusive group but honestly, locking the other ones behind a spec is flavorless.

Or are these thoughts just out of line?

If u want exotic pets go bm. Its normal that a mm cannot tame exotic pets. I would say survival yes.

If I were BM I wouldn’t have these opinions tho.

Thematically SV with “exotic” pets make more sense.

No it isn’t time, the point of “beast mastery” as the name suggests, is they have abilities to work with animals that are above the normal.

and there’s where the spirit beasts fall in. GASP - I know!

but I won’t argue logic if you’re stuck in the “BM = pet master” mindset.

What logic is there to be argued. The thematic approach is simple:

BM uses beasts to hunt
MM is the lone or if you desire dark ranger
SV uses traps and bombs and survival tricks.

All very different but valid schools of hunting. Nothing about MM suggests that they should have more ability with pets, heck they have a talent to enhance their damage if go **without ** a pet!

What else do you imagine ‘beast master’ means, if not master of all beasts, including exotic ones?

I’d be happy with this if they brought back pet talent trees and beast master had more points to spend

Exotic pets are for RP players and non-competitive content, and 99% of these players play BM anyway.

I haven’t tamed an exotic pet so far, and I’ve had this account for 2 years. I haven’t missed anything.

For starters, Blizzards needs to let us decide freely which pet abilities (MS, Slow etc.) our pet uses. This would open up dozens of pet families and hundreds of models/color variants that are never seen otherwise due to unnecessary restrictions. rant

Special pets is their thing. Like a oneshot gimmick in pvp is mm’s thing.

Exactly, what I’m saying is that all those RP players, whose thing is “special pets”, play exclusively BM already, because it’s a big deal for them to have 2 pets instead of one and show them off, so there is no need to give exotic pets to SV/MM.

If they want to change the pets system, probably it would be best to have more variety in terms of pet abilities and utility and give players a real choice - in WotLK some pets had a stun, some had a root, some incap, some interrupt. Current hunter pets are quite boring
