Isn't it too much?

Hey folks! Don’t take this post seriously, it’s just I need somewhere to share my thoughts about getting old :frowning:

It’s been some time since I reached level 70 on my shaman and yesterday I decided to try it in PvP. I looked through some guides, websites, asked a few people and so on, and after thinking carefully about the build I discovered that…well…it took 3 (THREE!!! THREEEE!!!) full bars to fit in all the necessary spells (minus 1 button for the mount).

And while I wouldn’t have anything against it 5-ish years ago, now I find it kinda disturbing to be able to interact with all of these squares (fingers got rigid, you know). I keybound literally EVERYTHING: ctrl, alt, shift, and it’s still feels like I’m a drunk octopus trying to play Bach on an organ.

Isn’t it too much to have that many buttons on a spec? I mean, Blizz added so many spells that are useful so you just can’t ignore them if you wanna kill/live in arenas.

Anyways, I guess it’s just me rediscovering PvP again, so probably in a few weeks I’ll forget about such minor inconvenience as lack of fingers to hit the buttons

Play elemental and you need only LB and ES they say.

Play warrior

I struggle with staying in meele range :frowning:

Would you rather have 56 keybinds?

That’s a good question, actually
But while having 56 keybinds is waaaay too much for me, at least some of them will land minimal damage on my target opposed to me not being able to hit it at all while trying to get to it

Best message I saw to date on this is:

As an arcane mage, you need a PhD in Rotationology.

Yeah, I first wanted to main arcane since, you know, pink sparks and glamorous glitter everywhere, and I just adore this stuff. But then I watched a few guides and was like “okay, let’s forget about arcane for the time being”

Buy a Razer Tartarus.
I use it for my 38+ shaman skills with great success!

Goggled it. What a devilish contraption!
Just to think about it, I need a little keyboardy in addition to my main one in order to play a spec lol

I bet you’ll be delighted with your toolkit in no time
this isn’t some sort of ability bloat situation with 3 filler and 3 spender etc, but you have a set of meaningful impactful button to press for every situation

A tip for you is to get a gaming mouse with extra buttons on the side. I always put there the most used spells so I can use them while not even touching my keyboard.

Another thing is to have priority or stable rotation, I mostly play tanks or healers and I barely use all these skills, some are waste of mana, some are better, some are worse, in the end, I use maybe 1,5 bar + 4 buttons on mouse

I feel you, as a rogue I I use about 26 to 28 abillities, so that is 26 buttons to push, and sadly a few years ago I had an accident where I had to re-attach two fingers on my left hand, the pointing finger and the flipping off finger…that leaves the pinkie and ring finger that is mobile.
so pressing all those buttons are a bit of a hassle, though it has helped changing some abillities to the mouse wheel, and a few other mouse buttons. I have also made my own specc that is less than optimal and it reduces the buttons I have to push down to 17, though, the build is less than optimal.
the only thing that remains is “Git Gud”.

They said shamans are masters of elements, not kings of piano panels :frowning:

Yeah, I have one with a few buttons on the side, they are also bound already xD

I just wanted to do “boom-babah” with lava burst T_T
