I swapped from Pack Leader to Sentinel as SV today because Pack Leader feels so bad with having to wait ~25 seconds after starting combat before it does ANYTHING, and if you happen to drop combat just before the buff runs out: tough luck, nothing happens. On top of this the utility and survivability we got with the previous incarnation of Pack Leader was SO MUCH better it’s not even funny. We went from many of our DRs giving a passive heal, which is tremendous in any solo content, to a single 10% DR on a 90sec CD which you CAN’T control which feels completely pointless.
So I thought I’d try out Sentinel until Blizz fixes Pack Leader, but lo and behold: the main talent doesn’t do what it says it does. Sentinel claims to deal damage every second when the buff " implodes", yet everywhere I’ve found it deals damage every TWO seconds, causing it to constantly stack up to 10 and overstack, even when it’s imploding.
Honestly, I’d prefer they’d just revert the Pack Leader changes until they work out something better, because while I appreciate that this is more on point for the fantasy, it just feels awful in its current state.
Yep, it’s back to being the same level of crap that it was in the start of season 1. I’m not a fan of Sentinel for different reasons so I’m really bummed out by this rework.
I stuck with Pack Leader up until now and really enjoyed Pack Leader after it got buffed during 11.0.5.
Now it’s so awful that even if they buff the numbers, it won’t matter. They need to do something now!
The way I see it they can do three things:
Rework it again. Pack Leader isn’t just weak, it feels so awful and awkward to use. I absolutely hate the gameplay.
Revert it to the old version and buff Merciless Blows.
Give us Dark Ranger instead of Pack Leader. There is no reason except for Blizzard themselves keeping to their own stupid restrictions. Dark Ranger would work much better than Pack Leader for Survival, I guarantee it.
Sigh… This is Shadowlands covenants all over again but even worse.
That’s sad to see, that after everything what happened to SV spec in dragonflight, finally in season 1 it become playable and even competitive in pve, and now they returned it to condition which was in DF, just meme spec for small amount of enjoyers
