Issues with WoW on Mac

Hi,

I’m a Mac player, and I’ve been experiencing several issues with the game recently:

  1. Updates on Exit: Every time I quit the game, it starts updating. This prevents me from quitting and relaunching immediately, which I used to do without any problems. This issue has been ongoing for about two months.

  2. Disappearing Mouse Cursor: Occasionally, the mouse cursor disappears after I switch between windows. This has been happening since the pre-patch.

  3. Character Selection Screen UI Scaling: The UI scale on the character selection screen is excessively large, making it uncomfortable to navigate. This also started with the pre-patch.

If you are using the Blizzard Launcher simply disable automatic updates - they have been causing disconnects in WoW Classic from personal experience

Are you using an Apple Bluetooth Mouse - you often lose the curser when switching using Command + Tab

You set your own UI scaling - just go into options and set it how you like it

  1. If I disable automatic updates, it doesn’t allow me to launch the game until It updates “nothing” anyway.
  2. I use a regular wired mouse, and there’s nothing wrong with it. I don’t have any issues with the cursor in other apps, games, or programs. This problem appeared right after the pre-patch and was never an issue before.
  3. UI scaling is the least of my problems, but it’s still annoying to see. After the pre-patch, my old UI scaling remained the same everywhere except on the character selection screen. I can’t attach the link but I can only see 4 characters at the side-bar list. It looks like I am playing wow through mobile phone. Apparently, before the pre-patch, I could see more than 4 of my characters at a time.

You still need to update - it just won’t update in background

Which Mac are you using? And are you running macOs Sequoia?

macOs does not perform well with a mouse not designed for Mac, its a real thing - movement sensitivity of Windows Devices is much greater than Mac

edit - what resolution is your monitor running at
