It’s all about the gold

Hey!

As a follow up to the that post someone said he’s quitting due to the lack of gold, I just wanted to ask how do I make gold?

I’ve seen a lot of people saying it’s not hard but I just got back about a month ago so I have no profession and no idea how.

Should I do all daily world quests each day or is it easier to farm old raids? And Which ones?

I would like some tips, I don’t mind working for it but I just don’t know how

The most profitable gold per time way is buying tokens.

I imagine the question was not meant to include gold made from buying tokens.

I’d like to know too, though I think the simple answer is usually “playing the auction house” I just… buy it. I seldom ever need that much gold anyway so it’s not that often.

Yeah I forgot to mention, no token gold since I do not have that much gold atm (600k).

And what is the AH way? Ppl keep saying it but I have no idea what it means

A friend does all the dragon races on multiple characters.

WQs give quite a lot these days.

I did the Field of Fiercity WQ in Ohanrahan plains (took 2 minutes) and gave me 1700g (even though the stated reward was only 1000g is there extra for renown or bonus week?). Looking in Zaralek Caverns (just did the Researchers for Loam rep) and there are a few WQs down there that show they’re offering around 700 or 800 gold each so will probably give more than that.
Also the Dragon races give good gold I hear (never done one, I’m just not good enough at dragon riding).

Currently, the easiest one is dragonriding and other gold WQ on multiple characters, as mentioned above.

Overall it depends heavily on the state of the game at the time. During the start of addon gathering and crafting are the most profitable things to do. Later, if you can tank/heal - you can fish for LFG satchels, each will contain at least 1 rune which are currently sold for 1.5k each (Silvermoon). Not sure how prices will change in 10.2 after the addition of perma rune (since it’s 100k gold) but I assume it still will be around 1k/piece, maybe even higher at first weeks of patch. In late addon cycle cosmetics usually kicks in – you can farm old content for BoE drops (raids, dungeons, expeditions, etc.), craft old tmogs or do some pet stuff – at the end of the addon people are bored and tired from endgame content, and that’s usually when different collectibles become more relevant.

Out of that, there’s three ways left – gambling (fishing for lamented pieces from Naxx, for example), selling services for gold (tanking high keys if you’re very good and geared tank) or playing on AH. Making gold in WoW is the different game itself, and there are tons of ways to do it – if you really want it.

I make most of my gold from WQs. The dragonraces alone give ~500g each. I think they spawned 4 in the leveling zones, 2 in Forbidden reach and 2 in ZC, which is a total of ~4000g bi-weekly alone (less if they spawn in a dreamsurge which replaces the gold reward). Then you have the regular world quests which not everytime give gold (the higher ilvl you are the most likely it is for the gold ones to spawn) go around 600g+, and the Ring of Blood one is 1000g+. Most of those are bi-weekly.

Also this is a bit of a long shot but try farming Elemental storm rares, the Elemental lariath recipe that drops from them is worth ~1.5 mil gold.
