It is about time we toss up the factions!

I am for having one united faction so that we can play whatever race we want and not be paygated from playing with friends.

I am against introducing more dumb factions.

Keep horde and alliance as they are for pvp purposes but with faction flagging, otherwise let them play together.

except that faction war now feels like a group of RPers “pretending” to fight each other in a field for LARP.

Theres so many constraints and so many tools ignored because blizzard know they’d outright destroy the opposition if used.

For example, the alliance have a Army of damn Space ships that Fire Lazers… yet we never see their use, azerite tanks and more were used on maybe a few occassions but appear to be Nerfed down nAF Considering what they do in to the player and what they did to teldrassil.

the war no longer makes sense, it feels like World War 3 every now and then we’re like “oooooo IS IT GONNA START”… and Last second “We’ve decided to not do this”. because we know If we start a War the level of weapons that could be Used just will do too much damage.

just Join the factions together at this poinnt… they’ll never give us a “true war expannsion” anyway.

Erm, actually, if it comes to joining, the Aliance can disband and join the Horde, not the other way round. We’ll dismantle Stormwind and sell off the bricks.

I would hate for this to happen. I love the conflict aspect the different factions add to the game.

There is no warr between alliance and horde. Since i remember it’s more like poking then war. Destroyed some small city or in BFA capital for a capital. Horde and alliance heroes (mind warcraft’s not players) whole time through all expansions working together. Only players are pushed in strange pointless war.

I opting for merge factions and make them only cosmetic, like for example something like “horde/alliance loyalist” but they can work and talk between themselves. However i doubt they gonna decide for this move. Factions are iconic.

A lot of people here seem to not know the difference between an armistice and peace.
Just because the Alliance and Horde are cooperating to fight a force that they cannot face alone doesn’t mean they’re at peace.
-Lor’Themar still wants revenge for the purge of Dalaran.
-Jaina still wants revenge for Theramore.
-Neither Genn nor Tyrande have much interest in the armistice and still want a war.
-Horde refugees and POWs were captured in Arathi, one was tortured with void magic for info.
-Shaw is currently imprisoned in Zandalar for trespassing (this nearly caused the armistice to end because Turalyon decided that this warranted a second attack on Zandalar).
The only thing stopping a fifth war from occurring is the fact that they currently have a bigger problem in the form of Sylvanas and the Jailor.

The Alliance and Horde are still very much at eachother’s throats, they’ve just put it on hold until we deal with the Shadowlands.

Someone please tell the writers to get their heads out of their warmongering asses and start write something that actually makes sense.

I’d love to see that maybe have Aethas be like this. Arthas: Jaina look i’m so sorry for aiding garrosh with stealing the divine bell and i should had taken full responsebility for it.

Once again , no. Factions are here to stay and I’m glad that is the case.

You can’t be serious…Leave Jaina alone! Please, don’t make me angry. Or you don’t wanna taste my hammer. Sorry but I hate when someone speak about Jaina like that.

I’m necrolord, I only fight for maldraxxus!!

Alliance who?!

:muscle:

I would prefer faction split ups into smaller factions:

Primitive faction:
Orcs
Tauren
Trolls
Goblin

Civilized faction:
Humans
Dwarves
Gnomes
Draenei

Elven faction:
Nelf
Belf

These for core and then the other races don’t know maybe neutral?

fractions are irrelevant because with that book in revendreth they revealed the whole plot of the game. big dudes fight each other. no one cares about alliance or horde. this was fun in warcraft 3 but irrelevant in wow 2020

I just added this section to the first post:

New characters will not “pick” their new faction at the character creation screen, instead only race and class will be pickable among with the usual customisation. And they get the usual choice of starting at their racial starting area, or at Exile’s reach. It is upon completion of either areas the players gets approached by a Twilight recruiter, and the choice is made then.

Now about faction switch - which could become available in a “free” version:

From New Alliance to Twilight: You speak with an recruiter in Stormwind/Orgrimmar and turn in the recruit quest at another NPC outside New Alliance territory. Doing so will make you hated with every reputation subfaction within the New Alliance, and you start at Hated with the Twilights. Better standing and acceptance within your new faction is build up during a lengthy quest line.

From the Twilight to New Alliance: You submit yourself to a specific New Alliance guardian which will imprison you in the Stockades/Tol Dagor/Orgrimmar/somewhere. Doing do will make you Hated with the Twilights and you start at Hated with the New Alliance. As a prisoner you start on a lengthy quest chain proving yourself worthy of being rehabilitated and later released once a certain reputation is reached.

Changing faction back to the former one wont restore the former subfaction reputations, all have to be earned anew.

I think you left 1 out.
:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

undead should be neutral to be honest, i never understood why the joined the horde and not the alliance since they are lorderonians

Great idea none the less but,

for horde its enough for us to bear the vulperas, we dont wanna see no goblin/worgen/nightelf rp players vibing around naked and purring. No hate tho:D
Shadowlands wont last forever, and we wont be in this realm forever, we’ll go back to either azeroth or to another realm sooner or later and this bonding might wont apply.
I really do think it’d kill a huge aspect of the game, even tho pvp/pve would remain the same, lot of other things would go away and it’d leave a bitter taste in
the players mouth forever.

PS: also based on the recent lores and stuff, yea it’d be possible to make it that way, but lets be honest. Doing story quests and watching the current lore is okay to do one time only, but no one actually does this besides the 3-4% player base whos actually into story. For those whos are into story in wow, its not the first time you are dissapointed so you can just get along with it anyway

You are a genius…however new “bad boy” faction can t be twilight, should be something more into Warcraft storyline

But if the blood elves won’t stop hating the Alliance for what Arthas did i’d say we let arthas finish the blood elf purge.
