It is almost impossible to push +12 keys with pug groups

Hi,
It is almost impossible to complete +12 keys and push them further with pug groups. Me and my friends are playing this game for more than a decade and I played at almost every high tier content. Almost all of us stucked at +11s for a long time. I hear lots and lots of people saying the same thing. There is something wrong with tuning of +12 keys and affixes.

Here is the reality of the situation. You were playing “high-tier” content in the past. But not the absolute highest. Nothing special. Just like everyone else.

If this was S3 of DF, you would be doing 28s and 29s by the end of the season. And between the start and end of the season you would pug your way through 21s, 22… ect… until 28s. Meanwhile, the professional teams are doing the same thing, but they were sitting in 30, 31 by the end of the season.

Flash forward to today and this is the situation :

  • 11s is like doing old 21s.
  • 12s is like doing old 29/30s.
  • The “pros” are doing 13s, or old 30/31.

And you want to PuG 12s ? Not gonna happen.

What you are missing are those in-between levels to give you a sensation of progression throught a season. You literally reached your “maximum” in 4 weeks of the patch. You now have 4 months left to simply sit there and slowly grind your way (Pugging) to where the pros sit.

Its much more efficient to simply stop wasting your time in 12s. And invest a couple of weeks to form a premade.

Or hope and beg that blizzard changes the M+ affixes mid-season right before an MDI competition. Which is not gonna happen.

Crazy how people time a +15 City of Threads with 5 min left but for pugs that key seems impossible on +12 even with little to no deaths. I think it is time to install microphone and find really good players and go on voice with premade group for 12+ keys.

The best players in the world are better than random no-voice pugs. Such insights on this forum.

Here is why :

Groups that do a +15 have 20 ilvls more than you. They are currently sitting at 636 (or really close to that). Everyone else that does not raid mithic sits at 627 at best.

And by “mythic raid” I dont mean killing the 1st or 2nd boss of the raid. I mean raiding deep into the raid (7/8 bosses) and be able to loot a lot of myth track gear items. Enough to have players fully decked out.

So why is this so impactfull ? Because 10 ilvl difference is a LOT. It allows DPS to do 20/30% more DPS than you. And that means that they can DESTROY packs.

So while you (and me) have to sit there doing kicks and CC chains and stuff like that to avoid getting 1-shot… they ZugZug the pack, and DELETE it in 10s (ONE aug tail sweap + 1 cap totem).

And because they last for so little, the healer barelly has to heal and can DPS (MORE dps). And the tank has less survivability issues because he will ALWAYS be inside a big wall CD.

And THAT is how you manage to do +16s. And that is why they do them with 5 min left on the timer. And why cant they do +17s ? Because mobs have more HP. And they cant ZugZug as much, so they need to start doing this kick stuff we do. And… as expected… they too get 1-shot and cant time it, even with perfect coordination. There simply issent enough kicks in the game to allow you to pull that off.

So. WHEN will you have 363 gear and be able to do what they do ?

IF you are extremly lucky and get an upgrade in the Vault every single week since week 1… then 14 weeks. So you should have 6 Myth Track items by now (if you had 6 upgrades in a row, AND cleared 10s the 1st week), and you got another 8 weeks to go. So 2 months.

But we all know 70% of your vaults will be dog poop. So the answer is not 2 months. The answer is NEVER.
