I really dont care high elves (even dont like their models) and if alliance gets high elves i wouldnt even create to check them BUT if that is true im totally done with this game.
Why? Not because horde gets high elves. Because this confirms that blizzard dont care, even hate alliance players in my opinion. They keep doing this in everyway, always and im totally done this bias.
Alliance asks for Sethrak - Diaper gnomes
Horde asks for Vulperra - Done.
Alliance asks for Vrykul - Fat humans
Horde asks for Zandalar - Sure.
Lightforged Draenei - Who even asked for them?!
Un-hunched orcs?Undeads? - No need even ask here you go.
And more…
And now this one.
This is really spit in face. Thanks blizzard.
The whining and thrashing on these boards and others in just these past few hours about what may or may not even be available to Blood Elves in the end has been something extra to behold.
For a “movement” that has based all their arguments for their cause on the lore of this game and sworn up and down that High Elves are more than their eye color they sure seem more than a little eager to want to restrict what is really a sensible and logical customization option for the most popular race in the game.
If your cause truly stands and falls on this tiny little thing then you never really had one to begin with as far as I am concerned.
Only Blizzard is able to restrict anything in the game. And so far they have restricted what is a fair and logical playable race for the alliance. So the least we can do is express our disappointment, but at the end of the day it’s not up to us. What’s annoying is the way horde players take pleasure in other players’ disatisfaction…
Doubt it~ its the only logical addition after golden eyes. What else could they add to make meaningful appearance change? Just look at new human faces and skin colors
It looks a little… bland? to me… I mean some of the colors are almost exactly the same, i feel like they will change these before launch, the “blind” eyes also look weird imho, these really look like early experimental versions. It could also be added to make it more simple to make High Elf NPCs. I absolutely love the almost white bluish eyes and the dark purplish hair tho, they look amazing.
By the way Blood Elf DKs had blue eyes since WOTLK, why is no one complaining about that? Those are much more blue than any of these.
What you want already exists on the Horde, and has for thirteen years and counting. It was sold to us all those years ago as part of the Horde experience of Burning Crusade much unlike Pandaren that were shipped as a neutral race.
Most High Elven concept art that I have ever come across have embodied the theme and fantasy of the Blood Elven Farstriders. Traditionalist with a strict code of honor and a reverence for the outdoors.
They’re too similar. And copy pasting the most popular Horde aesthetic and fantasy over to the blue side, especially now that Void Elves exist, thereby giving the Alliance two skins for what is originally a core Horde race was always very unlikely.
And I don’t like to gloat. Especially not when I’m still unconvinced that those eye colors are intended for us players.
Thank good Blizzard listened to reason and not the whine, good job!
Stopped posting in that alliance high elf mega thread on the older forums in the first locked thread since it was one huge circle jerking fiesta, people bumping it for the sake of it and using there burner accounts to post.
My first DK was a blood elf. I did imagine him as a turncoat High elf after finding out about the silver covenant on my main.
Since then I’ve never really found it a huge issue.
I’ll be honest I couldn’t hold a chuckle when I saw the blue eyes, it felt like an April fool’s joke. It’s almost like they did it on purpose and I love it
And this is the overall problem in WoW to begin with. There are way too many belves inGame and it hurts the immersion to a higher degree by now. People love to play beautiful hourglass figures while at the same time shun everything what isn’t beautiful (KTs f.e.)
Imo it’s a real inGame society problem by now.
But we have Pandaren, right? 1:1 designs on each faction side.
This ordeal has been utterly disgusting from day one. The toxicity and divisiveness on both sides of the argument has done nothing but damage the community.
Whatever the final outcome I will never forgive Blizzard for stringing this along for all these years. This should have been settled in the prelude to WotLK after the Legion was banished from Quel’Thalas and the traitor-prince destroyed at the hands of the combined forces of the Alliance and the Horde.
